6. Installation After unpacking, be sure to get rid of the

manual packaging materials and keep them out
of the reach of children.

Note:
• This manual provides the illustrations of the
accessory parts and machine that may be
slightly different in shape from yours. In that
case, instead of the illustrations, use the
appearance of your machine to follow the
installation procedure. This does not cause any
significant change or problem with the proce-
dure.
• If the mount kit MK-738 and fax kit FK-512 are
to be mounted at the same time with the local
interface kit EK-P01, mount the local interface
kit EK-P01 first.

2. Installation procedures (6) Remove the filter from the back of the main body.

(1) Turn OFF the power switch and unplug the

power cord from the power outlet.
(2) Open the packing carton of each option and take
out the accessory parts.
(3) Remove the cord clamp if used to secure the
power cord of the main body. (One screw)
(4) Unplug the power cord from the main body.

(7) Remove the rear cover. (Five screws)

Note:
Remove the screw A shown in the illustration only
if step (3) is not executed.

Remove the rear left cover. (Two screws)

(8) Remove the knockout shown in the illustration

from the rear cover.

<For C3850/C3350>
Remove the rear left cover. (One screw)

(9) Open the front door and remove the left cover. b) Remove two screws and move the exit tray of
(Two screws) the finisher.
Note:
Do not pull the exit tray with an excessive force, as
a connector is connected.

a) Move the aligning plate of the finisher inside.
Note:
When moving the aligning plate, apply your finger
to the bottom plate of the aligning plate. For fear of Connector
damage, do not hold onto the standing portion of
the aligning plate.

(11) Remove the shield plate. (18 screws)

(12) Remove the screw shown in the illustration

from the MFP board.

(13) Attach the supplied mounting plate. (Screw (16) Connect the supplied harness and USB cable
removed in step (12) and one supplied screw) to the fax board.

(14) Attach the supplied cover. (17) Connect the connector of the harness to the
MFP board.

dles and connect the connector to the MFP

(19) To install the covers and other parts removed in
steps (3) to (11), reverse the removal proce-
dure.
Note:
• When reinstalling the exit tray that has been
removed in step (10), fit the bosses on the right
and left ends of the exit tray into position, while
placing the rib on the right of the exit tray under
the control panel upper cover.
• There is no need to move the aligning plate of
the finisher to the original position.
(20) Connect the supplied modular cable to the
LINE port.

3. Setting the FAX
(1) Plug the power cord into the power outlet and
turn ON the power switch.
(2) Display the Service Mode screen.
(For details of how to display the Service Mode
screen, see the service manual.)
(3) Touch “System 1.”
(4) Touch “Marketing area.”
(5) Touch “Fax Target.”
(6) Select the fax target from the on-screen buttons
and touch “OK.”
Note:
Select the fax target according to the dial system
used in the installation place. For DTMF, select
“EU”, and for dial pulse, select each region name.
(7) Touch “Close” twice.
(8) Touch “ .”
(9) Touch “Fax Settings.”
(10) Touch “Initialization.”
(11) Touch “Fax Function Parameter.”
(12) Check that “ON” is selected and touch “OK.”
(13) Touch “Communication Journal Data.”
(14) Check that “ON” is selected and touch “OK.”
(15) Continue to touch “Close” until the initial screen
appears.
(16) Turn OFF and ON the power switch.
Note:
When displayed the Service Mode screen, be sure
to turn off the power after exiting the Service Mode
screen and wait for 10 seconds or more before
turning on.
(17) Perform the sending and receiving tests
between the Machine and either the store
which offers the service or the local retailer, to
check that it can be operated normally.
