I am working in L&T Construction, let me brief you about the company first -
Brief introduction about Company: L&T Construction is India's largest
construction organization and ranked among the world's top 30 contractors.
There are various independent companies which are Building & Factories,
Transportation Infrastructure, Heavy civil Infra, Power transmission &
distribution, Renewable energy, water & effluent treatment and smart world
and communication. I am presently working in Power Transmission &
Distribution IC in BSNL NFS OFC Project. (Week 5, Marketing Strategy
Assignment, 2020). I am working as Asst. Manager (Environment, Health &
Safety) and I am having core competency in Safety therefore the project
must be related to safety. Presently, working in Optical Fibre Cabling
Segment of our PT&D IC.

a) Small & Manageable project that will have high impact on

implementation is given below:
I wanted to create the scripts for the Virtual Reality for training the
employees and workmen of our Optical fibre cabling segment as by
implementation of the above project will provide below benefits:

 Virtual reality (VR) bridges the virtual and real worlds.

 VR can help workers have a better sense of space and how a
project will turn out.
 Reduced near-misses, accident rates, and other indirect costs can
help the firm save money.
 Our project is large and moving quickly, thus VR training will aid in
accommodating all of the workers in the training module.

b) Objectives of the project are given below:
a. Hands-on experience with a variety of risks and hazards.
b. The rate at which all workers are trained is increased, as is
coverage at remote locations.
c. Raise awareness among stakeholders to reduce the number of
incidents and accidents.
d. The cost of induction and training per person will be reduced.
e. The effectiveness of mindfulness is instantly apparent.

Issues that would be resolving:

 Workers may test the effect of their decision without endangering
themselves or their tools.
 As a remote location in the optical fibre section, it is simple to
transfer the VR system, perform training, and cover the largest
number of workers.
 It may be used to train a variety of stakeholders, such as clients,
employees, subcontractors, and workers.
 The training material, the trainer's oratory abilities, and the
stakeholders' listening behaviour all play a role in overall efficacy.
 To avoid near-misses, mishaps, or accidents at any construction
site owing to dangers present in various operations.

c) Mentor’s Suggestion:
"After the epidemic - VR is becoming prevalent across all industries, this is
the opportune moment for us to take advantage of this trend and adopt it
across the BU," Mentor recommended.

 Pay a visit to a VR gaming centre to assess the gear and return with
recommendations based on budget and relevance to OFC
construction projects (this can wait before final project submission
due to COVID guidelines)

d) Problem Statement for the above project:

In the optical fibre cable (OFC) segment, virtual reality (VR) being used to
digitalize a safety training module.
