Ten Million Sinovac COVID-19 Vaccine Raw Materials Arrive

in Indonesia. Minister of Health: Starting in July, the Covid-

19 Vaccination for Ages 18 and Over will be Expanded

Previously, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health (Secretary General of the Ministry of
Health) Oscar Primadi said, Indonesia already had 91 million doses of vaccine.

That because of total of 10 million doses of Sinovac's COVID-19 vaccine in the form of raw materials
or bulk arrived in the country, Sunday (20/06/2021) afternoon, via Soekarno-Hatta Airport,
Tangerang, Banten.

Oscar emphasized that the government continues to make efforts to secure the need for vaccines
for the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination which is currently being rolled out by the
government. To achieve communal immunity or herd immunity, the government targets to
vaccinate around 70 percent of the population.

The raw materials that have arrived in the country will then be distributed throughout Indonesia
after being processed into a finished vaccine by PT Bio Farma. Oscar is optimistic that this additional
vaccine will support the government's efforts in accelerating the current roll of COVID-19
vaccination.

The government has a plan to accelerate the implementation of COVID-19 vaccination with a
vaccination target of one million doses per day through the provision of vaccines and logistics for
COVID-19 vaccinations that meet quality, efficacy and safety requirements. All parties need to
synergize and collaborate to be able to accelerate the national vaccination program so that group
immunity can be achieved immediately.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that more Covid-19 vaccinations for people aged 18 years
and over will be held outside the DKI Jakarta area, starting in July 2021.

However, Budi hopes that young groups can include parents or the elderly to the location of the
vaccination service. This is because the government is still having difficulty reaching the elderly to be
vaccinated.

“Parents or the elderly are affected by the fear of being vaccinated, many of you, it's difficult to
invite them, the reason is that they get information from the WhatsApp group about dangerous
vaccines, then there is the issue of halalness," he said

Therefore, Budi emphasized, information about the benefits of the Covid-19 vaccine must be
increased because people read more information from social media than mass media.

He added that one of the government's considerations is to open vaccinations for those aged 18
years and over because the number of vaccine stocks that will be received is increasing.

"There have been many (vaccine doses), many have come, so we have to finish them quickly ," he
concluded.
