Region V - Bicol
SCHOOLS DIVISION OFFICE OF ALBAY
ALONGONG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
II. Rationale:
In accordance with Republic Act 10533, or the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013,
DepEd is required to fully support the ongoing professional development of its teaching
employees. To fulfill this role, district and school personnel should be fully equipped with
relevant core and technical competencies that will enable them to cascade intensive training
and support ongoing professional development of personnel based on the principle of Lifelong
Learning and the Department of Education's commitment to the development of teachers and
their potential for professional success. Critical competencies have been determined because of
extensive monitoring and evaluation, as well as the teachers' Training Needs Assessment (TNA).
This capacity building for teachers can be done through the School Based In-service
Training for Teachers (INSET) which focuses on enhancing necessary skills to teachers on
identified common topics.
Alongong and Tagbac Elementary School will conduct a three-day INSET through
virtual and face to face modality observing strictly the minimum safety protocols.
This program likewise supports the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan to
capacitate teachers with appropriate teaching and Learning resources and processes to
address the needs of the learners in this pandemic. This INSET will equip participants in the
implementation of the new modalities and with new ways of addressing the challenges brought
about by pandemic.
III. Objectives:
This INSET will prepare participants to deploy new modalities and new approaches to
addressing the difficulties posed by pandemic. Teachers will be equipped with knowledge and
skills in the control of behavior for both teachers and pupils, as well as the use of creative and
trendy methods for the effective delivery of quality education in the face of the COVID 19
epidemic.
The Inset will take place in a Grade 4 classroom, with virtual and face-to-face
observations of social distancing and other health-related procedures. The proposed topics will
be the subject of the inset:
1. How to cope up with challenges in the New Normal of Teaching and Learning
2. Assessment in the new Normal
3. Test Construction in the New Normal
4. ICT Trends and Tools in the delivery of Education in the New Normal
(Microsoft Teams and GOOGLE APPS)
5. Psychological First Aid and Intervention for Teachers
