INFORMED OPINIONS THROUGH CAUSAL CHAINS

You have probably seen advertisements on the Internet or on television about the need
to take care of the environment. Words like recyclable, toxic gases, global warming,
water care, renewable energy, etc. seem to be in fashion. However, it is not fashion. This
situation responds to the urgent need we have to change the way we live on our planet.
If every person in the world did something for the planet like instead of going in a car
everyday to every place, going walking, there wouldn’t be so much pollution.

In my house we have an interesting trash can in which there are four parts. One of them
is a plastic dustbin, where we usually put plastic bottles, plastic bags…. Then, we have an
organic dustbin, where we put the food we don’t eat, such as a banana peel, a piece of
carrot… There is also a glass dustbin where we put the glass bottles and containers. Last
but not least, we have a paper dustbin, where we put all of our paper such as work
papers, printer papers… There are many residues that pollute a lot, if we all followed the
same procedure as my family there would be much less waste pollution.

We usually buy organic fruits and vegetables (fertilizers and pesticides are usually
derived from petroleum) and beauty products (shampoo, soap or makeup) made with
natural ingredients, not derived from petroleum. We use the bicycle, public transport or
electric cars when we need to go anywhere. Also, since I don't have a bathtub in my
house, I don't usually waste a lot of water when showering.

In conclusion, the most important thing we have to do is educate the kids about this
because the future depends on them. So, if you have kids and they don’t know what
could happen to the planet if we keep ruining it, please tell them. If all the people in the
world put a minimum effort we can achieve a change.
