CAN WE BAN PLASTIC BAGS FROM GROCERY STORE?

Hello good morning Mrs. and Mr. my name is........., I’m from........... . Thankyou for the
opportunity to speech. Now I will explain can we ban plastic bags from grocery store, market? Plastic
bag, plastic bags have many uses for our daily life. Every time we go to shop or market, we will get
plastic bags for carrying items that we buy. There are many clients that go for shopping every day. And
that’s mean many plastic bags were used every day.
There is 134 billion of plastic bags were produced. And 5 trillion plastic bags will used in this
year that’s 160,000 plastic bags were used in just one second. 5 trillion plastic bags can be used for
covering area twice the size of France. That’s 1,087,880 km2. And sadly just 1% of plastic bags were
recycled. Plastic bags that not recycled will just throw away. Imagine all of that plastic bags were
thrown away in the sea, forest, lake, river. That will break our ecosystem, many animals will be extinct.
That will be a very serious problem for our life in the future, because plastic bags not decomposed
become soil. There is no place for animal to life, there is no place for plant, and there is no place even
for us to life and many other problems. That’s a bad future for our descendant. Plastic bags also can
make drainage sawed and can cause flood and also can make someone injured. Plastic bags also have
been major reason for untimely animal deaths.
So what we can do for prevent that problems? Or can we just ban plastic bags in markets and
shops? That not that easy, because with banned plastic bags we will make new problem. Like I was
said plastic bags have many uses for our daily life. Plastic bags have become a part of our life. But we
if we can solve the problems we also can banned plastic bags in markets and shops. What is the
problem of banning plastic bags? Isn’t not banning plastic bags will make serious problems?
Problem that may appears when we banning plastic bags from grocery store.
1. Isn’t people need bags for carrying items that they have buy? Usually we use plastic bags for
that purpose, but when we banning plastic bags what we use for carrying a lot of items that
we have buy? That mean if we must carry them with just our hands. That will be a problem
because the items can’t fly or walk by itself, and items that we can carry with hands is very
limited.
2. Producing and selling plastic bags to store and market is a business. That is industry that
needs money to operate and to pay employees. By banning plastic bags the industry don’t
know where they selling their plastic bags. And also don’t get money many people will lost
their jobs and the industry went bankrupt. That’s bad for economy.
What is the solution? Or is it can’t ban? No is not! Every problems always have its solution.
And now I will explain the solution of all that 2 problems. First problem is about how we carry the
items that we buy. There are some solutions for this. First we can put in pocket if we just buy a little
amount of items, maybe snack, candy. and if we want to buy more items we can just use bags or
shopping cart for carrying it. And we can use paper bags to replace plastic bags. Paper bags can easily
decompose and it isn’t danger for our environment. And the second problem is the plastic bags
industry. When we ban plastic bags from store, shop. they don’t know where they can sell plastic bags.
That will make bankrupt and many employees will fired and become unemployment. They can produce
other things like paper bags and cloth bags so they can still sell their product. And maybe they can
develop a new kind of plastic bags that isn’t harmful for environment and can easily decompose.
Conclusion, we can ban plastic bags from grocery store, shop market and maybe in all over the
world. Because plastic bags can become problem in the future. Plastic bags are still become a big threat
for our environment and also for us. This problem has often been overlooked and underestimate. This is
because people still don’t think about the long term effect of these small, easy to carry bags they use in
their everyday life. We must think about the long term effect of this plastic bags. We now can see the
effect of plastic bags on our environment. We should be aware, and we should stop using plastic bags

THE ENVIRONMENT IN INDONESIA AND HOW TO SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT IN INDONESIA

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Good morning, my teacher and my beloved friend. Thank
you for the time and opportunity that has been given to me to talk about ‘How to Save the
Environment’ .

First of all, let us praise our God, who blessed us so that we can be here today. Today we will
talk about the environment in Indonesia. According to Otto Soemarwoto, the environment is the sum of
all objects and conditions contained in the space in a place where they affect our lives. The
environment has an important role in living things. One of its important roles is as a place for living
things to live. In addition, the environment also plays a role as a source of life. 
Previously, the environment in Indonesia was still quite well maintained and quite  clean. But over
time, environmental problems in Indonesia are increasing. Environmental damage is one of the
problems. Many things cause environmental damage in Indonesia. The biggest cause is the lack of
public awareness of the environment. The habit of littering is one of the causes of the environment's
being polluted and causing the surrounding community to be susceptible to disease. 
If people continue to practice bad habits that can damage the environment, the environmental
problems will only get worse. Therefore, action must be taken so that the environment is not further
damaged. There are many actions we can take to protect the environment. An example is doing 3R,
namely Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Reduce is an effort to reduce the use of goods that have the potential
to become waste. By reducing, we have taken action to reduce the use of goods that have the potential
to become waste so that the environment is more protected and damage is avoided. The second R is
Reuse, which  means reusing an item more than once. The third R is Recycle, which means
reprocessing or recycling waste into useful and valuable new goods or products.
Another action is by planting trees. The trees we plant, have many benefits for ourselves, others,
and the environment. One tree can produce 1,2 kilograms of oxygen per day, while each requires 0.5
kilograms per day. So one tree can support the life of 2 people.
Another step that can be taken is not littering. By littering, we have damaged the beauty and
brought harm to the living things around us, especially humans. One of the impacts of littering is the
emergence of various types of diseases. Of course, this is very detrimental to residents who live around
and other living things.
The next step is not to burn trash. Burning garbage has a big negative impact on the environment
which if it is sustainable, will also have an impact on living things such as humans and animals. An
example of the negative impact of global warming and damage to the earth's atmosphere. Damage to
the earth's atmosphere has an impact on human health. Therefore, stop burning trash from now on.

The last action is to sort the garbage. There are three types of waste, namely organic waste, inorganic
waste, and toxic waste. The first is organic waste. Organic waste is a type of waste that comes from
nature and can decompose. The second is an inorganic waste. Inorganic waste is a type of waste that
does not decompose and is difficult to decompose on the ground. Examples of inorganic waste are
paper, plastic, cans, and so on. The last is toxic waste. Toxic waste is a type of waste that comes from
the factory or hospital waste. One of the positive impacts of sorting waste is making life healthier
because, by sorting waste, we can reduce air pollution. Of course, the positive impact is very beneficial
for living things.

By taking the actions previously mentioned, we have helped prevent environmental damage from
getting worse. And by taking these actions, we are already taking care of ourselves and others. Before I
close this speech, I want to emphasize that protecting the environment is the responsibility of all of us.
So it has become a must to do our duty.

Good Morning
The honourable judges

My name is............, I am from........ First, I would like to thank God for

the opportunity given to me today and thank you for the chance given to me to speak in front
of you.
On this happy occasion, I will deliver a speech about "What age should children be allowed to
have a cell phone? Do you agree if the parents give them a cell phone since they were kids or
do you agree if the cell phones will be given by the necessities such as the online learning like
nowadays situation by the parents? what benefits or disadvantages of both statements, express
your argumentations". I choose this topic because there are many examples and data in our
environment.

As we know, the problem in this era is many parents give their kids a cellphone to make their
children are quiet or not cry. That is a powerful weapon from parents to their kids. The parents
give their kids a cellphone without knowing the amount of time spent interacting with
electronic screens especially cellphones. Also, there some parents buy their kids cellphones
specially design for children, as a result, the kid becomes comfortable and they do not want to
stop playing with cellphones.
There are few questions thahat need to be asked
Questions number one is What age should children be allowed to have a cell phone? These
questions often spark debate because now we often see children at an early age have their cell
phones. In my opinion, there is no age standard, because the maturity of every child is different.
There is a child who is only ten years old but has a high sense of responsibility and maturity.
Some children are already 17 years old but are not yet mature and responsible enough. Give
your child a cell phone when they are mature and responsible. Mature children will understand
how to manage and limit their activities because they know the consequences if they do
something without any limitations.

Questions number two is Do you agree if the parents give them a cell phone since they were
kids and what benefits and disadvantages? I disagree if some parents give their child a
cellphone aged under 5 years old because it can disrupt the growth process, this age should use
to socialize, develop children's motor skills, run and play with friends. For ages 6 years and
over, give cellphones to children if they are mature and responsible enough. If not mature
enough, the child can borrow the parent's cellphone so that the parent can supervise their child.
The positive impact is can increase children's knowledge with social media that can provide
information, and they can learn to respond to technology. The Negative impact is gadget
radiation can affect or damage the child's brain development, and the child's immune system
can be disrupted.
Questions number three, Do you agree if the cell phones will be given by the necessities such
as the online learning like nowadays situation by the parents and what benefits and
disadvantages? I agree if the parent gives a cellphone to their mature child, but I disagree if the
parent gives a cellphone to their child are not mature enough, because that is too dangerous for
the child are not mature enough. Positive impact is Facilitate the interaction of students with
teachers and Facilitating teaching and learning activities. Negative impact is Decreased
academic achievement, Can cause addiction and strongly affects the character of students.
That’s all my speech today, I hope it can be useful for all of us. Be wise in giving gadgets to
your little one, Moms, although there are positive impacts, but we also have to look at the

 WISE WAY TO USE CELLPHONE

Good evening Mr, on this beautiful day I want to thank God for allowing me to be here, on this evening
I will give a speech about what age should children be allowed to have a cell phone? Am I agree if the
parents give them a cell phone, and my opinion about the parents who give their children a cell phone
specially for social media. In this speech, I will answer some of those questions.
Cellphone is the most common item we can find in this modern era, especially in 2020 until 2022 right
now because of the pandemic. this item has become a student’s mandatory item for online learning
during the covid-19 pandemic. students use their cellphone during online learning for zoom meetings,
searching the information about learning they have learned, recording videos for their homework, etc.
but, children are not fully using their cellphone for online learning, they are also can use their
cellphones to improve their hobbies, they can even make money from editing platform, youtube, etc.
Now let’s take a look at the negative effect from phone usage on underage child. Like we know
nowdays, every child has been given a smartphone for online learning and other positive things but
they misuse their phone for gaming, social media, and many other things they can do with their
smartphone. Besides having a negative effect, a smartphone also has a positive effect, kids would be
able to develop an ability to think creatively. for example, is Yuma Soerianto, he is an 11 years old
Indonesian child who can make money from making applications, and he started his passion from a
cellphone. Another positive effect is to prepare children for the modern era, this is important because
when they grow up, they will face the modern era, where technology mastery is an obligate skill for
jobs, everyday life, and many other things. After listening to the effects, what do you think? Maybe
most parents will disagree because not every child can utilize a cell phone like Yuma Serianto or
control the phone usage by themself, but that is the parent’s job to control underage child cell phone
usage. if parents do not control the usage of cell phones in children, their children will be free to do
many negative things from cellphones, but if parents continue to limit and guide their children in using
cellphones, the children will get positive things because of parental guidance.
 So what age should children be allowed to have a cell phone? According to the Children's Bureau, The
average age kids get a phone is between 12 and 13. I think this age is the perfect age for children to
have a smartphone because this age is the time when children develop their minds, but parents should
keep an eye on what content do their children watch. Parental guidance is the most important thing
specially for social media, because more than 80 percent of children in Indonesia use their most time in
a day on social media. The problem is, mostly content in social media is bad for them, this is because
the algorithm of social media show what people wanted, not what they needed. This is why, the content
in social media are dangerous for their future, because in age between 12 and 13, is the beginning of
puberty, and puberty is one of the most important moments in this life to develop child’s character in
the future. 
So in my conclusion, am I agree if parents give an underage child a cellphone? That means children
under 12 years old. Yes, I agree, but the parents must give a time limit like 2 until 3 hours, because that
time is enough for them to learn something from cellphone and guide them in order that children are
not misuse their cellphone.
That is from me about my opinion to parents who gives their underage children a cellphone, I’m sorry

 The dangers of using gadgets for children
Good morning Judges , my name is...... I am from ......
on this happy occasion, I want to deliver a speech about the premature use of gadgets. The use
of gadgets from year to year is getting higher as if gadgets are increasingly embedded in our
lives from young and old. Especially in this pandemic period where everything seems to be all
gadgets, from school to even eating messages via gadgets. I don't mind if I have to use gadgets
to be able to carry out activities, but the problem is that the use of gadgets is too early for
children. This is not a trivial matter and should not be ignored.
This problem has actually been discussed many times and has been around for a long time, but
sadly this problem has not been resolved until now. In my opinion, the use of gadgets by
children who still do not understand anything is not a good thing. Moreover, without clear
supervision and learning, sometimes parents also use gadgets as a solution for their children.
For example, the child doesn't want to eat, the parent thinks his child needs entertainment while
eating, then he is given a handphone. One day..two days it doesn't matter, one week it starts to
become addicted to the point where you don't want to eat if you don't have a handphone, this
continues until the child's eyes are minus and yap...we all know the ending is the child's fault.
Things like this happen very often, especially in big cities where people have enough income to
buy gadgets. And in an environment like this, the impact of his addiction is getting more severe,
as if the more supported. Besides the lack of time that is spent more on work than
accompanying the child, these children cannot know the time limit. And also because of the
lack of supervision, sometimes these kids see things they shouldn't be watching or reading or
even hearing. Let's take an example; when the child opens youtube, this child accidentally sees
an ad that shouldn't be seen.
Let's take another example when the child is playing an online game, in that online game the
average player is a teenager or an adult. Which is where we play games to find fun or just vent
all the burdens from work or maybe school. Sometimes when playing a game, the game loses
because of the actions of other players. We accidentally say inappropriate words and finally, the
child starts imitating the words without knowing what the words mean. This also happens a lot
and is really annoying because they say it over and over again like it's a cool word and this kid
says it to anyone.
The use of gadgets that are too early if allowed to continue will also cause some adverse effects
for the child. For example, decreased concentration while studying, especially at school. At the
time of learning, children become unfocused and only want to play with gadgets, thus making
children lazy to write and read. Actually, problems like this can be overcome by several things,
such as strengthening the rules within the family, setting a good example as a parent, and
spending more time with children.
Or indeed gadgets are really needed, especially during this pandemic, take time to supervise
children because most of the negative impacts received by the child all occur due to lack of
supervision by parents or parents' lack of firmness in educating children. Always remember also
3 things to educate children, namely Discipline, Consistency, and Firmness. Because without
those 3 things, these solutions will only become discourse. But also not only remembered but
implemented because change starts from action, don't be heavy in educating children because
it's also for their future to worry if it has the potential to impact negative their future.
Finally, before I bid farewell, I hope that through my speech problems like this will no longer
be heard or repeated, hopefully, we can all reflect on it and make it a plan for the future starting
