Human activities such as illegal logging, deforestation, and converting forests

for agricultural and urban uses are the main reason for the disappearance of trees,
according to research. In addition, scientists have said that these effects combined
contribute to the loss of 15 billion trees worldwide every year, which worsens the global
warming we are currently facing year by year. When forests are cut down, a substantial
portion of the stored carbon is released back into the atmosphere as CO2. This is how
deforestation and forest degradation contribute to global warming. As a result, viable
solutions to the said environmental issue are implemented such as tree planting.
Tree planting is widely regarded as one of the most engaging and environmentally
friendly activities in which people can participate to help the planet. Trees provide
significant benefits to the people who live near them by improving mental health and
wellbeing, reducing stress, and encouraging outdoor exercise. This is in addition to the
advantages of improved environmental quality and amenity that come with planted areas.
Trees do not only make the environment look wonderful and pretty; their significance goes
far beyond the beauty they hold. Trees have enormous value and function, and their
continued existence is crucial for our survival. Aside from it being primarily used for
building a house, making tools, and furniture. It also helps in combatting global warming
by absorbing carbon dioxide, removing, and storing carbon, and releasing oxygen back
into the atmosphere. They also reduce wind speeds and cool the air by losing moisture
and reflecting heat upwards from their leaves. It is estimated that trees can reduce the
temperature in a city by up to 7°C. Other environmental advantages include the fact that
they help to prevent flooding and soil erosion by absorbing thousands of liters of
stormwater.
It is evident indeed how dependent we are on trees, including wildlife and
other living organisms, which emphasizes the importance of trees for our survival. To
resolve the environmental crisis we are in, we must put back what we have taken away
from our environment. By planting more trees, we can help in battling global warming and
climate change for the betterment of our future generations.
