CLARIFICATIONS ON THE ISSUANbE OF DIVISION SPECIAL ORDER FOR


SERVICE CREDITS

In order to guide all concerned and to avoid violation of DepEd Order No. 53, s.
2003 and other rules pertaining to laws and regulations on leave, the following guidelines
are issued:

1. The Public Schools District Supervisor or the Secondary School Head, as the
case maybe" shall reoommend approval of requests to render vacation service to be given
credits for use to offset sick leave of absences;

2. The Schools Division Superintendent approves/disapproves the request;

3. If request for service credit is approved, the following shall be submitted upon
completion of the activity

a. Approved request for the grant of the service credit;


b. Accomplishment repoft;
c. CS Form 48 or Daily Time Record
d. List of teachers using the prescribed Division Special Order Form for
service credit, certified correct by the proponent of the activity which is either the PSDS
orthe School Principal for approval of the Schools Division Superintendent;.

4. Requests fbr service credit is no longer needed if there is an existing Division


Memorandum, Regional Memorandum or Deped Memorandum which specifically states
that attendance to that particular activity shall be granted service credit. Only the DTRs
and the list of teachers to be granted the service credit/s should be submitted;

5. I'he Division Special Order Form prepared by other agencies granting service
credits e.g. COMELEC, NSO, BSP/GSP, etc., shall not be required. For this purpose, the
teacher has to submit their Certificates of Participation/Attendance and the Daily Time
Record;

6. Only the service credits earned beginning school year 201T-2Ol? and onwards are
required to be submitted immediately after the activity. However, teachers especially
those contemplating to retire, are also encouraged to submit all their service credits
earned during the prior years for proper recording and issuance of Division Special
Order. Teachers are also advised to use first their service credits earned during the prior
years befbre using those earned recently.
