(1) January 2018 – 2020: CENTER FOR PROMOTION OF APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGY

Position : Protection/ GBV Support Officer
Location : Juba
Duties
 Provided counselling and assistance to SGBV Supervisors in attrition to taking lead in the
facilitation of group therapy sessions for SGBV survivors and women at risk.
 Worked with the SGBV manager and fellow officers of activities undertaken in timely
manner the team’s program activities.
 Engaged in the provision of psychosocial support and skill building activities at the
women centres for the SGBV survivors and women at risk.
 Organized and facilitated regular camp-level discussions to strengthen community-
based prevention and response to SGBV.
 Worked closely with the SGBV response officers in carrying out the clients satisfactory
surveys to measure the impact of the response services provided in services provided in
addition to identifying the underlying gaps in the provision of the response services.
 Ensured that all individual case files are opened and closed according to the
international standards and that the storage of the survivors’ data is in line with the
data protection protocol.
 Suggested strategies to the Project Management for improving the efficiency and
effectiveness of the project by identifying bottlenecks in completing project activities
and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottle necks.
 Reported monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all project activities to
the National Project Director/Project Manager.
 Conducted capacity assessment on existing monitoring and evaluation system Develop

 Ensured that the perspectives, capacities, needs and resources of the persons of
concerns are reflected in the protection strategy, planning processes and operations
plan addressing the specific protection needs of women and men, children, youth and
older persons, persons with disabilities, minority groups such as sexual minorities and
persons living with HIV/AIDS.
 In operations applied the Cluster Approach, ensure the Protection Cluster covers all
assessed and prioritized protection needs of the affected population and utilize the IDPs
footprint during the planning process.
 Coordinated the promotion of international refugee law principles and standards and
also IDP legislation or policies ensuring that all sectors and clusters fulfil their
responsibilities mainstreaming protection.
 Coordinated the implementation and monitoring of programmes ensuring that
identified protection needs, including an Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) approach, are
adequately addressed.
 Provided policy guidance and operational support the partners on all protection related
issues.
 Provided legal advice and guidance on protection issues to internal and external
interlocutors; ensure legal assistance is accessible to persons of concern; liaise with
competent authorities to ensure the issuance of personal and other relevant documents
to persons of concern (civil documentation, in particular birth certificates).
 Monitored, and assist with the intervention in cases ofexpulsion and other protection
incidents through working relations with governments and other partners.
 Provided training to relevant programs staff on M&E tools, data collection and analysis
and basic surveying and sampling techniques.
 Supported the design and implementation of post distribution monitoring surveys,
distribution monitoring process and assessment by ensuring the full participation of all
project stakeholders at field level.
 Worked with relevant field team leaders and projects officers for data collection and
ensure all project reports are collected, consolidated and sent to M&E coordination in
