REASON & DESCRIPTION

1. 결함 개요

2011.08.10, A330-300, HL7586 항공기가 KE9742 편 (HNL/NRT) HNL 에서 비행 전 점검 중

    ‘ESS TR FAULT’ Message 가 Display 되는 결함이 발생되어, 관련 조치 관계로 2시간 15 분
    지연 출발함.

[ENGLISH VERSION]

1. Reason & Description

   On 10th AUG 2011, HL7586 (A330-300) Aircraft, KE9742 Flight was delayed due to 'ESS TR FAULT'
   Message display on ECAM at HNL airport.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION & REQUIRED ACTION

2. 결함원인

   ESS TR 로부터 DC ESS BUS 로 Power 를 공급하는 ESS TR Contactor 자체 결함임.

       

3. 조치 사항

   가.  at HNL

        - MCDU 의 ESS TR Page 에서 ESS TR Reset 수행하였으나 결함 동일
        - 항공기 All Power Reset 수행하였으나 결함 동일
        - DL (Delta Air) 에서 부품 loan 하여 해당 TRU 교환 (Electrical Power OFF) 하였으나 결함 동일. 
        - FWC & SDAC Reset 후 점검 결과 정상으로 항공기 Dispatch 함. 
 
  나. at ICN
      - ESS TR Contactor (3PE) 자화/비자화 점검 결과, SDAC 에 ESS TR Contactor Closed Input Signal 을
        제공하는 (PIN 19 <-> PIN 20) 간 Contactor 결함 확인.
         * Electrical Power를 전달해 주는 Contactor 내부 Main Contact 은 정상

4. 대 책

   [고장 탐구 절차]

   가. ELEC ESS TR Fault Message Display & ESS TR ~ DC ESS BUS 간 Green Line Disappeared 되는 경우
       ( * CMC 에서 ESS TR Reset 시도 시 No Message Memory )       
       ☞ ESS TR Contactor Closed Input Signal Error (Open Signal) 경우이므로 해당 Contactor를 교환 할 것.

      
        

  나. ELEC ESS TR Fault Message Display & ESS TR ~ DC ESS BUS 간 Green Line 정상 Display 되고
      SD 상에 "ESS TR" Amber 지시되는 경우
      (* CMC 에서 ESS TR Reset 시도 시 CMC Message 24-34-51, TR ESS (1PE) Memory)
      ☞ ESS TR "E" 단자 (ESS TR Fault Signal) Electrical Ground (Earth)이므로 TRU 작업을 진행 할 것.

2. Causes
   
    ESS TR Contactor itself had a problem providing ESS TR CONACTOR Closed Input Signal to SDAC.

   

3. Taken Action

    A. at HNL
      - Same fault happened after ESS TR reset on the ESS TR page of MCDU.
      - Same fault still remained after aircraft's all power reset.
      - Same fault happened again after replacing ESS TRU. 
   
   B. at ICN
      - Contact from Pin 19 to Pin 20 of ESS TR CONTACTOR (3PE) was abnormal that
        provides ESS TR CONTACTOR CLOSED SIGNAL to SDAC.
         * The main contact of the ESS TR contactor (3PE) was normal condition for connecting electrical power.

4. Counter Measure

   [Trouble shooting]

   A. In case of ELEC ESS TR Fault Message Displayed & Green Line Disappeared Between ESS TR ~ DC ESS BUS.
       (* When resetting ESS TR on the CMC, No memorized message.)
      ☞ Replace the concerned Contactor since tthe root cause of the problem is ESS TR Contactor Closed
         Input Signal Error (Open Signal)
        

   B. In case of ELEC ESS TR Fault Message Displayed & Green Line displayed between ESS TR and DC ESS BUS
      & "ESS TR" AMBER displayed on SD.
       (* When resetting ESS TR on the CMC, TR ESS (1PE) MEMORY (MESSAGE 24-34-51) memorized.)
      ☞ Replace TRU since the root cause of the problem is ESS TR Fault Signal.
