For the single-line, a total of three different
colors (RAL) can be applied. Therefore for
each voltage level or busbar, another color

Control Base and objects units

Hardware The control part of the mimic is a modular concept based on electromechanical and passive
electronic components.
Each mimic consisting of one base and additional objects units. The units are connected in a
serial line. The number of object units is not limited (only space for it is limited)
The base unit includes all overall functions and interfaces as operation mode handling, self-
latching with runtime supervision, lamp test, execution handling and alarms. Additional control
facility and interface for one object.
The object unit includes control facility and interface for two objects. Therefore dependent the
number of object units the BCM801 can handle 1,3,5,7,9…control objects.
The standard size of the mimic is 10U (443mm high). On the backside one base and maximum
4 objects units for control up to 9 objects can be mounted. If more than 9 objects should be
controlled an additional 5U frame have to be used on which maximum 3 additional object units
can be placed (additional 6 control objects).

Control Base Unit

Hardware (cont’d)
• The base unit is mounted in a standard print case and can be snap in direct on a mounting rail.
• All internal and customer interfaces are plugged. For customer interfaces Phoenix spring-
cage connectors 2.5 mm2 are used.
• The selection and execution relays are plugged (with metal strip fixed).
• The BCM801 provides optional an internal runtime supervision relay. The timeout (1..100s)
is adjustable by the trimmer on the relay K101. If the predefined runtime exceeds the latched
selection and execution relays drops off. The outputs can only be latched in combination with
the time relay.

Control Power supply Interface (X1):

Hardware (cont’d) The terminal block X1 is used for the power supply connection of the BCM801. One power
circuit for control and one for indication are available. In case that the two circuits are linked
with the jumpers (JP1 and JP2), only one circuits has to be connected to the station battery.

General Interface (X2):

The terminal block X2 includes the interface for global functions as local / remote handling,
runtime supervision and cascading interface for double operation interlocking.
• In case that the add-on “runtime supervision” (with time relay) is included, the output
commands are latched until the drive running signal (X2-2) falls back from or the config-
ured time is exceeded. As long as one drive is running, no other object can be executed.
• In case that a double operation interlocking over more than one mimic is required, the
object running status (X2-3) can be connected to the next BCM and blocks there the exe-
cution of a object if one drive is running.
• If remote control will be executed via two step commands (object selection and execution
ON / OFF), the execution ON / OFF inputs X2-9, X2-10 have to be used.
• If the runtime supervision exceeds, the contact X2-11 close as long the drive motor runs
(X2-2).

Control Object interface (X11 / X21)

Hardware (cont’d) The customer interfaces X11 (object 1) and X21 (object 2) are identical. It includes all inputs
outputs to visualize and control a objects. The following interfaces are included:
• For position status indication, the inputs X11-4 to X11-5 are available. If a object status
indication module with LED is used, the alarm LED can be controlled via input X11-2.
• The object can be controlled from remote with direct execution ON and OFF or with two
step control (selection of the object and execution ON / OFF). The direct commands are
on the inputs X11-7 and X11-8. For two step control the object has to be selected via the
input X11-6, the execution command have to be connected on the base unit X2-9 and X2-
10.
• The drives of the objects can be controlled via three potential free outputs, select (X11-
9/10), execution ON (X11-11/12) and execution OFF (X11-13/14). Each object can be
driven by a separate supply (+/-C). If that is not required the execution ON and OFF cir-
cuits can be linked with jumpers to the same potential. Therefore only one object has to
be connected to the drive supply.
