11. Instruction: Draw a graphic representation of the problem written below. You just need to
follow the instruction stated in the problem, write your answer on the space provided below or
you may attach a file of your answer either documents or image. Answer process questions
provided after the problem.
PROBLEM:
Carl walks 5 meters from their home to his classmate house to get a copy of the
assignment. From there, he continues to walk 4 meters going to Aling Miling’s store and walk
another 7 meters to reach the wet market to buy some fish. From the market he walks 9 meters
going home and finally went 6 meters going to the basketball court. Draw a graphic
representation of Carlo’s destination by following the steps below.

(1)    In making this, use a dot to represent the position of Carlo and then connect the dots to
show the continuation of his movement from one point to the next.
(2)    Lastly, use arrow to represent the stating and the ending position of Carlo, wherein the
arrow head points the end position while the starting point of the arrow represents the starting
position of the person.

Process Questions:
1. What is the total distance of Carlo?

Distance = 5 m+4m+7m+9m+6m
Distance = 31 m
2. What did you do to compute for the total distance?
Add all the components for distance since distance is just a scalar quantity.

2. A scalar quantity that refers to the total length of path taken by an object in moving from its
distance
initial position to final position.
3. A vector quantity  that refers to the straight -line distance between an object's initial and final
displacement
positions, which direction toward the final position
speed
4. A scalar quantity that refers to how fast an object is moving
velocity
5. A vector quantity that refers to the rate of change of position
acceleration
6. A vector quantity that refers to the rate of change of velocity

14. Instruction: Sketch a displacement (d) vs. time (t) graph representing the following:
a.              A body at rest
b.             A body at constant velocity
c.              An accelerating body
(Note: You may use the space provided below for your answer. If not, you may upload a word
document or an image of your actual output.)
15. Instruction: Tell whether the following situations show acceleration or not.
not
1. A car moving at constant speed in a circular track. Answer
not
2. A car moving at constant speed in a straight road. Answer
acceleration
3. A roller coaster ride.  Answer

16. Instruction: Read and analyze the word problem provided in each item. Use the key concept
that is discussed in the firm-up in answering this quiz.
Note: You can write your answer in the provided box below. If you can't, uploading of word
documents or image of your actual computation will do.
1. Angelito is driving at 6.0 m/s when a traffic enforcer signals that he should speed up. He
then steps on the gas pedal and accelerated uniformly to a speed of 15 m/s in 4.5 s. Find
the total distance traveled. Assume Angelito's reaction time is 0.15 s.
2. At the instant  the traffic light goes green, a car waiting at the intersection starts ahead with an
acceleration of 2.5 m/s^2. At the same instant, a bus coming from behind moving at 12.0 m/s
passes a car. When and where will the car catch up with the bus?

17. Instruction: Read and analyze the statement then answer the questions after.
The driverless car, otherwise known as autonomous car or robocar (robotic car), is capable
of sensing its environmental  and navigating without human input. This is made possible with the
use of radio detection and ranging (radar), light detection and ranging (lidar), global positioning
system (GPS), odometry, and computer vision. There are also advanced control systems capable
of interpreting sensory information to identify appropriate navigation paths as well as obstacles
and relevant signages.
The use of autonomous cars is expected to reduce vehicular accidents caused by driver
error, pollution, and lack of traffic enforcers and road signages. It is also expected to decongest
traffic. To date, six major car companies are investing heavily on autonomous cars. Several
countries like the United States, the  United Kingdom, Australia, and Japan have allowed the use
of these cars in public roads for testing.
Will the Philippines allow the use of robocars? Will robocars help solve the worsening
traffic situation in Metro Manila?  Does it help us become safer in travelling specially in a public
vehicles?

18. INSTRUCTION: In this activity you just need to recall the different formulas used in
solving one-dimensional word problems. You just need to match the description to its
corresponding concept.
Good luck!
