WEEK 10-11

THE HUMAN PERSON IN THEIR ENVIRONMENT

OBJECTIVES:

1. Take note of environmental disorders

2. Determine the things that are improperly placed and organize them in an
aesthetic way

3. Show that care for the environment contributes to health, well-being and
sustainable development

4. Demonstrate the virtues of prudence and frugality towards environments

ACTIVITY 1 (PPT11/12-Ii-4.1, PPT11/12-Ii-4.2)

The whole class will be instructed to interview a person who is 45-60 year old. Be
guided by the following questions:
1. What are the things that you remember in your environment when you were
my age?

According to my Grandmother:
 It was uncommon to see structures when I was your age. The surrounds are
lush with vegetation and are less polluted than today's environment.
2. What are the things that you like doing when you were young?
 I didn't have electronics when I was your age, so we used to play on the street
with my relatives. We also frequently assisted our parents with home duties.

3. What are the positive and negative changes in the environment?

 Many changes in nature were apparent to me as I grew older. Not just in
nature, but also in the surroundings. The progressive loss of trees is one of
the negative consequences I've seen. If the environment used to be entirely
green, it is no longer the case. In turn, the introduction of technology has a
favorable influence.

4. Do you think environment plays a vital role in a person’s development? Why

or why not?

 Yes. The natural environment has a direct influence on the well-being of

children. You must learn to defend yourself if you live in a hostile environment.
It is not your decision; rather, it is the outcome of your circumstances. Long-
term development success is built on a healthy natural environment.

ACTIVITY 2 (PPT11/12-Ij-4.3, PPT11/12-Ij-4.4)

After conducting the interview, the whole class will be instructed to write the
summary of their findings where the following questions are answered:
1. What have I learned from the person I interviewed?
 Environmental protection is an essential, I learnt. I may not be able to
accomplish or experience the things that my grandmother did, but we must do
everything we can to protect the environment so that we can see green again.

2. How do I feel about the things that I learned?

 To be honest, I felt motivated.

3. Will this knowledge gained from the interview help me in understanding the
role of the environment in my development as a person?
 It made me understand that the environment in which we live has a significant
impact on our lives since what occurs in our surroundings has the potential to
influence our way of life.

4. What should I do with the environment?

 We must take care of it. As previously said, we may contribute to preserve
nature in order in a little way. We may help by simply disposing of waste at
the appropriate landfill.

WEEK 12-13

FREEDOM OF THE HUMAN PERSON

OBJECTIVES:
1. Realize that “all actions have consequences.”
2. Evaluate and exercising prudence in choices.
3. Rationalize that:

a. Choices have consequences;

b. Some things are given up while others are obtained in making choices.

4. Show situations that demonstrate freedom of choice and the consequences of

their choices.

ACTIVITY 1 ( PPT11/12-Ila-5.1)

I. What can you say about the pictures below? Have you been in this
kind of situation? What are the things that you considered in making
choices?

Answer: I am now seventeen years old. I'm getting close to making my debut. They
often ask whether I want a real debutante's party like the other debutantes. Of
course, as a little girl, I wished to be a princess. But I'm always considering the
alternative possibilities. I'm about to start college. I don't want this to be a difficult
situation for my parents. Instead of throwing a big party, I'd like to put the money
toward new tuition. We need to be practical these days. I only need to be successful
in order to give myself the grand party I desire. Of course, when I made my decision,
I gave myself enough time to reflect and, as I previously stated, I considered all of
the options, both positive and negative. I also learnt that we shouldn't only think
about our wants. First and foremost, we must consider our own needs and priorities.

ACTIVITY 2 ( PPT11/12-Ila-5.2 , PPT11/12-Ila-5.3)

As a grade 12 student, you have made some important life decisions in the past.
Make a time-line of major decisions in your life and below the line then write down
the consequence of those particular decisions.

Consequences

ACTIVITY 3 (PPT11/12-Ilc-5.4)

What is the message of the picture? Write your reflection about this picture in
separate sheet if necessary.

 Every action has a consequence, which is known as the domino effect. We

must reflect on our choices in life. We may experience a pleasant or bad
influence. You have no control over the results, but you do have power over
your choices and decisions.

ACTIVITY 4 (PPT11/12-Ilc-5.4)

Do this activity.
