of 10-3 mbar in the furnace core less than 5
minutes from atmosphere.
 It should be able to maintain vacuum (~10-3
mbar) at 1600 Deg.C during heat treatment.
3.16 Vacuum sealing of inner core There should be appropriate sealing to ensure
vacuum at the operating temperature.
Suitable water-cooling jacket should be
provided to facilitate the O-ring silicon
sealing for long time.
3.17 Provision for inert Atmosphere The furnace should have suitable terminal
connection ports and gas connection ports at
the top of the furnace chamber with proper
sealing to with stand the vacuum (up to 10 -3
mbar) and gas pressure (up to 1300 mbar).
3.18 Heating and cooling cycles The furnace should be capable for controlled
heating (5, 10, 20 Deg.C per minute) and
natural cooling.
3.19 In-situ change of atmosphere It should have switching capability from
vacuum to inert atmosphere at any
temperature.
3.20 Control Panel The control panel shall have current ON/OFF
switch, emergency OFF switch, input
interface. The control panel should display
instantaneous temperature and set
temperature by digital LED double display
and fault alarms. The temperature inside the
furnace should be displayed and controlled
by smart range Microprocessor based
programmable PID controller having
ramp/soak programming and auto and
manual selectable control features.
3.21 Safety interlocks It should be protected using Current Limit
Feed Back arrangement.
