STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Technology is one of the primary driving forces behind contemporary life in the modern-day.
It has made communication faster and enhanced connectivity all around the globe. We have
reached this stage thanks to our brilliant computer science graduates who took their enthusiasm
for computers and technology and utilized it to develop various computer devices and software
which have made our lives easier.
Inspired by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Nikola Tesla, and Elon Musk, I too have a strong interest
in Science and Technology since childhood. Physics and Mathematics have always intrigued
me. During this time, I was fortunate to have teachers who saw my interest in these subjects
and motivated me to continue to expand my understanding of science and improve my
analytical skills. The field of computer science offers a plethora of opportunities for you to
express your creative side. The curriculum enables the students to use coding languages in
innovative ways, such as for building databases, eliminating security vulnerabilities, and
developing newer technologies. This is the belief that has drawn me to the awe-inspiring world
of computer science since I was in elementary school. Consequently, I decided on Computer
Science as my undergraduate major. I pursued my passion by opting for Computer Science in
B. Tech. Getting an admit to Lovely Professional University was through a competitive
entrance test called LPUNEST and my ace performance here earned me a scholarship and a
50% waiver of the graduation fees.
I have written a research paper on my project “An Advanced Decentralized Conditional
Anonymous Payment System for Cryptocurrency using Blockchain” which got published in
the ‘Journal of Emerging Technologies and Innovative Research (JETIR)’, an International
Scholarly Open Access Journal. The aim of my project was to develop a safer and more secure
payments system for cryptocurrency transactions than the ones that are being used today. The
decentralized anonymous payment (DAP) systems that are being used today for cryptocurrency
transactions do not rely on trusted, legitimate parties and use distributed ledgers. These systems
cannot be regulated effectively and are prone to criminal activities such as money laundering
and cybercrime. To counter this problem, we have successfully developed a web application
that is based on blockchain. The application introduces an efficient ‘Decentralized Conditional
Anonymous Payments (DCAP)’ system which is highly secure and makes crypto transactions
robust and easy. The system establishes a balance between Privacy protection and regulation.
Through our application, we have been able to achieve both anonymity and regulation
properties. My work on developing this DCAP framework has earned me numerous plaudits
from my peers and professors.
It is due to this belief of mine that I have succeeded in developing multiple projects in various
fields. For one of my projects, I created a dashboard where worldwide movie data is analysed
and displayed. The dashboard contains charts and graphs which show revenues and profits
garnered by different movies and yearly profits of different countries. In 2018, I designed a
CPP Card protection system for a Car service centre. The system stores the data of cars that
visit the centre and makes payments easier.
Apart from this, I was always a socially active student and regularly participated and
volunteered in fests, competitions, seminars as well as workshops organized by my college.
Since 2018, I have been a member of a student organization called ‘Ample Foundation’ an
NGO. Ample Foundation is a Student Organization, aiming at uplifting the living standard of
underprivileged, especially children. The organization provides moral, educational and social
support to the underprivileged in the Society. At the organization, I am the Golden board
member who guides the CEO and under my supervision, we have organized as many as
fundraising events for orphanages and the poor people. We have also organized numerous
social cause programs such as providing education for the children of construction workers,
giving seminars on sanitation, seminar on mental health, basic education for hostel mess
workers and many more. I also received an appreciation award for my contributions in this
wonderful organization.
The work that I have been able to do and the changes that I have been able to bring through my
projects have made me realize that there is still a ton of opportunities left to explore in the field
of computer science. This important realization has motivated me to choose Computer Science
and Engineering for my postgraduate studies so that I can expand my knowledge and develop
newer, meaningful skills in this wonderful subject.
The Florida Institute of Technology has been a beacon of knowledge and inspiration for
students from all over the world. The University also offers multiple Internship and research
opportunities to its students. The University makes it a top priority to training its students for
life after college with its esteemed faculty members ensuring that their students continue to
strive towards academic excellence and gain ample practical experience so that they can solve
real-world problems. The large number of international students that study here also ensures a
vibrant and diverse culture which are conducive to an academic environment.
For my postgraduate studies, there is only one reasonable destination: the USA, a country that
is at the hub of the computing universe. The US has been the chief driver of computing
innovation and is home to the most innovative and successful companies in this domain. The
US is home to some of the finest educational institutions in this world and is known for
providing top-quality education. The college degrees from this country enjoy an excellent
worldwide reputation. The US has also earned its reputation as a bastion of cultural diversity
with people from all walks of life enjoying great freedom and success in this great nation. have
considered all these factors in taking my decision of pursuing my master’s degree from this
country.
I feel blessed that I have a loving and caring family that supports me in everything I do. Our
family consists of three people: My mother, my elder sister, and me. My mother is a
government employee and she works for the Telangana Health Department. My sister is a
Software Engineer and she works in Hyderabad. It is due to the constant love and support of
my family that I can take this decision of moving thousands of miles away from my home to
pursue my studies. After the completion of my studies, I shall return home to my family.
Returning to my country after completing my master’s degree will give me the opportunity to
be close to my family as well as work for the growth and development of my country.
After completing my master’s from the USA, I hope to have plenty of exciting career prospects
at my disposal back home. Some of the top recruiters include Amazon, Google, Microsoft,
IBM, Deloitte, Infosys, Cognizant, TCS, and HCL. To land a job at one of these large, reputed
firms will be my goal so that I can create a meaningful and financially secure career for me.
