PROGRAM PROPOSAL

I. TITLE : Indigenous Peoples and United Nations Month Celebration

DATE : October 29, 2021
VENUE : Dumalneg National High School - page - virtual

II. RATIONALE

In a very diverse world, peace is one of the most vital aspect that it needs for it to thrive. The
earth is a one big space that houses different race with different ways of life. For the past centuries,
war and chaos broke out as some race wanted to stand out of the rest. Until the United Nations, an
organization of united countries emerged and promoted peace and harmonious living among the
land. This important phase of the history should then be very much celebrated and commemorated.
Thus, this year with the theme “Different Race, Different Ways: Living Together in One Space”, DNHS
shall relived cultural diversity through nations and ethnic tribes within specifically the Indigenous
People of Dumalneg.
Under Sec. 21 Chap. V of R.A. 8371 it states that, “…the State shall, with due recognition of their
distinct characteristics and identity, accord to the members of the ICCs/IPs the rights, protections
and privileges enjoyed by the rest of the citizenry. It shall extend to them the same employment
rights, opportunities, basic services, educational and other rights and privileges available to every
member of the society.” Thus, regardless of our differences in culture, we are all bound to respect
one another and stand in equal footing so as the unity among us will flourish.
