The Philippines is one of the countries that was affected by COVID-19. Last month,
the Department of Health (DOH) announced the first case of NCOV in the Philippines. As the
Outbreak became a Pandemic, the cases in the Philippines jumped up. The recent number
of Pilipinos' that was infected and positive for COVID-19, was already 140 and 11 already
died. President Duterte already declared a community quarantine for the whole Metro
Manila. Since mostly, of the positive for the virus lived in some cities of Metro Manila, this is
just to ensure the safeness of the people for the whole Philippines. Last week, the
Municipality of Cantilan declared a sudden suspension of classes and some office work. It
said that a resident from Cantilan had seen symptoms related to the virus. Rumors said that
the person was a Seaman, and went to some countries that had COVID-19 cases. Now the
person is under investigation. From that day on, Cantilangnons were shocked. Everyone
immediately ran and went to grocery and pharmacy stores. Everyone was busy seeking
alcohol, hand sanitizers and face masks. 'Panic Buying' and 'Panic Hoarding' this is what we
call. Right now, everywhere you go, you can't buy alcohol and face masks anymore. Lot of
people were hoarding, they bought everything and some didn't even left. That's why, those
who haven't those products were worried. COVID-19 brought a huge impact to our daily
lives. If this virus continues to spread, everything will be complicated.Home quarantines,
suspension of classes, cancelling or postponing events is a must to be implemented if this
virus will continue to grow.
