Welcome Class of 2023!

We are excited to have you join our community.

Your journey starts with MBA Launch! This three-week-long program will prepare you for
multiple aspects of your career, leadership, and academic experiences. At Foster, we have a
strong belief in integrative learning. We recognize what you learn in the academic classroom will
be applied in your career development and community engagement to be better prepare you for
the future. Therefore, throughout September and your time at Foster, integrated exposure to
academics, careers, and the community happen regularly.

We know that this is a time of constant change; starting an MBA program, the on-going
pandemic, civil unrest due to centuries of racial injustices, and daily uncertainties might create a
great deal of anxiety. We are intentionally prioritizing your overall wellbeing throughout the
entire MBA program. We will use the University of Washington’s blueprint for Advancing
Student Well-Being developed by the UW Resiliency Lab to help you cultivate wellbeing for
yourself.

Day 1 and 2 of MBA Launch will introduce you to concepts that you see throughout your time at
Foster. We will focus on building on an inclusive community, nurturing your mindset for
academic and professional growth, and building space for taking care of your physical and
mental wellness. Our primary focus will be connecting you with your classmates, who will enrich
your time throughout the program. You will continue to see similar frameworks throughout
September. ProDev, Lead, JumpStart, and MBA Association and club events will introduce you to
concepts, tools, resources, and strategies for academic, professional, and personal success;
however, you define it.

Best,

Norah Fisher, Director Full-time MBA Student Affairs

MBA ProDev Launch
ProDev Launch, hosted by the Career Management team, is designed to help you
deepen your self-awareness and develop skills you will need in your job search
throughout your time at Foster.

ProDev Launch kicks off with an introduction to Designing Your Life – a process
that students have found valuable during their time at Foster and for many years
to come. You will then gain a deeper understanding of your strengths and talents
and how to use them in future roles. We will dive deep into case and behavioral in-
terviewing and you will polish your business writing skills with an Amazon execu-
tive. More than 20 company recruiters will join us to talk about what they expect to
see in the months ahead. ProDev Launch ends with a special training by Lewis Lin,
who specializes in MBA interviewing for product management and whose work-
shops have helped students in all roles and functions.
