Learner-Centered Psychological Principle

In this video, the learner centered principle devided into 4 factors which are the
cognitive and metacognitive factor containing 6 principle , the nature of the learning
process where the subject matter is most effective when they are constructing meaning
from experience.Goals of the learning process , successful learner must to set goal in
life and to be goal oriented on what they want to be. Learners can create meaningful
refresentation of knowledge.Construction of knowledge , succesful learners can adopt
new information in meaningful ways. Learners learn a lot of things so as a teacher they
need to help them to connect the lesson from the previous discussion to a new
discussion so that they can construct meaningful meaning. Strategic thinking, learners
must uae strategic thinking to acchieve learning goals.Thinking about thinking, as a
student we must the ability to monitor their own learning and assess their
strategies.Context of learning,it is influence by environmental factors including culture,
technology and instructional practices so that as a teacher you must to sensitive in the
culture of the student.

Motivational and effective factors contain 3 principle, motivation is like a fuel to

go on and fuel to exert more effort in life. They must be motivated by their learnings.
Intrinsic motivation to learn, it is a teaching a student on how really use their curiousity
and how to sustain the interest of the learners.Effect of motivation on effort, if the
learner is motivated they exert effort to do a certain task.we must sustain among
motivation in learning.Developmental and social factors containing 2 principle,Individual
difference factors containing 3 principle.

As a future educators we need to apply this 14 learning strategies to make our

teaching to be effective. We need to help student to develop their critical thinking as well
as their self reflection skills.

Metagcognitive Learning Strategies

From the video that I watched metacognitive learning strategies is a method that
used to help the student accquire new knowledge and understand the way he/she learn
about the said topic that can benefit to student to think critically. By this, student will
implement this in the classroom. Metacognitive learning refers to the procedures for
planning, monitoring, and evaluating one's knowledge and performanc of the student.
Metacognitive also is a system that makes the student aware on their own cognitive
performance. This strategies help the learners to be more self-suffecient on his/her
learnings. By means of cognitive strategies teachers help the student to recognize
his/her weaknessess by planning how this weaknesses overcome. And also
metacognitive strategies recognize its strenghts by this learners give assurance that
they need to complete each task. The aims of metacognitive strategies is to practice
their skills to attain their own goals.Furthermore, teachers help student to monitor and to
make sure the student gain a knowledge for them to study hard more effectively.

Piaget’s Cognitive Development Theory and Vygotsky’s

Sociocultural Theory of Cognitive Development

Piaget stage theory has been influencial globally, validating a number of ideas
regarding growth and development in many cultures and society. It plays a very
important role in our lives. It help us to develop strategies to improve our learnings. Both
theory has a key process. The key process of piaget theory are the
accommodation,assimulation,operations,conservation,classification,hypotherical
deductie reasoning. In vygotsky theory the key process is the zone of proximal
development, language , dialouge, tools of the culture. Piaget define language has
minimal role while vygotsky define language as a powerful role. In terms of teaching
applications piaget define teacher as facilitator provide a support for children to
discover a new knowledge, while, vygotsky define it as teacher as facilitator establish
many oppurtunities for children to learn and to be more skilled. As we can see both
theories has different point of view in many aspects . Both Piaget and Vygotsky, I
believe, presented educators with valuable perspectives on child cognitive
development. Piaget argued that children grow cognitively through maturation,
discovery techniques, and some social transmissions such as absorption and
adaptation. In terms of the two cognitive theories, I'd rather use Vygotskian ideas in my
teaching. Structuring, co-constructed knowledge, discourse, and cultural instruments, in
my opinion, are all crucial components of a student's knowledge acquisition. We provide
kids with relevant learning techniques that they absorb and apply later by assisting them
in their zone of proximal growth. Many educational techniques, such as discovery
learning with an emphasis on action and play, were advocated by Piaget. However,
Vygotsky's view of cognitive growth included the necessity of social interactions and a
co-constructed knowledge base
