TITLE

PROJECT LIBRO

( L- earning, I-n , B-asic , R- eading , O- f non-reader children)

INTRODUCTION

Reading is important in a person's life, especially for children, because it acts as a

key to wisdom and opens the door to imagination, joys, and a sight of the world. The
ability to read is highly valued and important for social and economic advancement.
Reading is an active process in which readers interact with text to reconstruct the
author's message and give meaning based on their own experiences. Most youngsters,
of course, learn to read very quickly. In reality, a small percentage of students acquire it
on their own before starting school, with no formal teaching. It's a human skill that
necessitates a through understanding of the entire process. It is present from the time
we are born until we die, implying that it is a process that lasts throughout our lives and
has a significant impact not just on educational matters, but also on social and
commutative ones.

Children who are most at risk for reading failure do not have these early
experiences when they join kindergarten and elementary school. Many poor readers do
not engage in the language play that develops a sense of sound structure and language
patterns on a regular basis. They are only exposed to bedtime and laptime reading on a
restricted basis.

In short, children reared in poverty, children with inadequate English

proficiency, children from families whose parents' reading skills and practices are low,
and children with speech, language, and hearing disabilities are all at risk of reading
failure.
