There are currently 48 countries in Asia, all filled
with rich culture and great history, tragic periods and
amazing people
First up , South korea
-South Korea, a country in East Asia. It occupies the southern portion of the Korean peninsula.
- The country is bordered by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea).
-The South Korean economy has grown remarkably since the early 1960s. In that time, South Korea
transformed itself from a poor agrarian society to one of the world’s most highly industrialised nations.
Heritage
An uncountable number of Korean heritage sites, properties, and items
have been lost, damaged, and stolen during the last 100 years or so due to
Japanese colonisation, the Korean War, and modernization.

Changdeokgung. It was built in 1405 as a Royal Villa but became


the Joseon dynasty’s official Royal Residence after Gyeongbokgung,
the original principal palace, was destroyed by fire in 1592 when
Japanese forces invaded Korea.

Jongmyo shrine
It was built to house 83 spirit tablets of the Joseon kings and their queen
consorts, and direct ancestors of the dynasty’s founder
Hanbok
The hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) has a history as colourful as
each garment. It was worn daily up until about a century ago; however, it
remains an important part of Korean culture, with people wearing it on
special occasions and holidays.

China
China’s history is rich with art, politics, science and philosophy.It is home to the
oldest of the major world civilizations.
believed to be the Xia dynasty which formed somewhere around 2250 BC.

The Great Wall of China has a history of more than 2,000 years.It is 21,196 km long

The Terracotta army


The Terracota Army in Xi’an China took 37 years to build. It consists of 8,000 clay soldiers,
130 chariots with 520 horses, and 150 cavalry horses.It was built to guard an Emperor’s tomb.

The forbidden city


The Forbidden City is the world’s largest imperial palace.

Current China
China is the single most populated nation and one of the largest countries in the world.
Same as Korea, China has also gotten a lot of attention because of chinese dramas and Chinese idol (a TV show in which
many young singers compete to become professional idols).
Even though the country is very safe to live in and is growing rapidly, we cannot deny the fact of how much pollution

Chinese New Year’s celebration lasts for 15 days! It’s the biggest holiday in China which is usually celebrated in January or
February. New year in China is even more popular than Christmas. But here’s an even interesting fact: many countries in
the world celebrate Chinese New Year as well.

Ice cream was discovered in China some 4,000 years ago. The Chinese people back then combined milk, rice mixture and
snow to create the yummy dessert.

Ancient Chinese people created the world’s first football made of leather. The ball was filled with feathers and hair and the
sport was original called ‘Tsu’ Chu,’ which means ‘kicking ball.’
Fortune cookies did not originate in China ,it was invented in San Francisco and it is not a traditional Chinese custom.
Philippines
The Philippines is named after King Philip II of Spain (1556-1598) and it was a Spanish colony for over 300 years. n
Today the Philippines is an archipelago of 7,000 islands.

Paoay Church
This is one of the most notable “earthquake baroque” structures in the country where the
primary concern was to design the church for earthquake protection.

San Agustin Church


San Agustin Church, built between 1587 and 1606, is considered the oldest and
longest-standing church in the country. The church was the only structure left intact in
Intramuros during World War II.
Baro’t saya
The national costume of the Philippines, the baro’t
saya, is an elegant hybrid of Filipino and Spanish
clothing styles.During the period of Spanish
colonisation, the baro't saya was the everyday dress of
most Philippine women
Muslim women in the Philippines wear long skirts,
long-sleeved shirts and scarves to cover their head.
Women can also use long trousers instead of a skirt.
Some of them add an umbrella to their set.
today , they are still often worn during gathering,
festivals, and for cultural shows.

Today the Philippines is still poor but things are changing. Since 2010 the Philippine economy has
grown at about 6% a year

There are at least 175 languages spoken in the Philippines

Camiguin is only 14 miles long and 8.5 miles wide, but it’s the only island on the planet
with more volcanoes than towns. It boasts more volcanoes per square mile than any
island on earth too.

Though ,the volcanoes have been dormant since the 1950s so there’s no need to avoid
it. Far from it actually, its bubbling hot springs, white-sand beaches and cheerful locals
make it a popular spot for tourists
Japan
The Jomon period was the beginning.They were from the stone age and
after them came many other clans later such as The Yayoi , Yamato,Asuka
etc.
Japan has a tragic history including the event of the bombing of hiroshima
and nagasaki by the US after Japan had launched a surprise attack at
pearl harber, Hawaii.

Fushimi Inari Taisha


‘Fushimi Inari Shrine’ also known as ‘The Thousand Red Gates’ is an
important Shinto shrine in southern Kyoto.
Kiyomizu-dera
The site is famous for its impressive viewing platform,
three-storey
Koyasu pagoda and the medicinal pure waters of the Otowa
Spring.
Kimono
The traditional dress of Japan is the kimono. Kimonos, which
are generally made of silk, have large sleeves and reach from
the shoulders all the way down to the heels. Kimonos are
now usually worn only on special occasions, such as the
Shichi-Go-San festival, weddings, and graduation
ceremonies.

Vending machines

-With 5 million vending machines- Japan has the highest density in the world.
Batteries, ramen, sake, umbrellas. flowers- you name it and the vending
machines probably stock it.

They have a meat dish made of horse

-Basashi is a popular regional Japanese dish, consisting of raw horsemeat


slices with ginger and onions.

Okunoshima (the rabbit island)

-This small island is filled with over 900 rabbits and of course u can play with
them

-Everyone in japan have their own personal seal which the use to sign
contracts.

Japan has grown rapidly over the years in technology,
manufacturing and much more.The country itself is filled
with so much more than you can imagine but sadly japan
also is one of the countries with high suicide rates as
students are smart but all they do is study.

Many Yakuza (mafia gangs) are still present in japan till this
day and the most powerful one is the Yamaguchi-gumi gang
with more than 8,200 members.
