In every school they have set their own vision and mission statement, its
purpose for that is to share their objectives and what the school aims to achieve for
their students. It also serves as a reminder and direction for improving the
performance of students, maintaining a good reputation and for the effectiveness of
every school. According to the research I found from AdvanceED in 2011 the first
standard was modified. The standard requires school to maintain and communicate a
purpose and direction that commit to high expectations for learning as well as shared
values and beliefs about teaching and learning.
The vision of USC states that “The University of San Carlos sees: A WORLD
where the darkness of sin and the night of unbelief vanish before the light of the Word
and the Spirit of grace. A SOCIETY where citizens are competent, noble in character
and community oriented: What they know, they apply justly and honestly. What they
do not know, they seek to learn. What they do not have, they endeavor to acquire.
What they have, they share.” The school USC is known to be a Catholic institution of
learning that’s why you can see in their vision that they claim their belief of the
existence of the Word and the Spirit of grace. The school’s vision doesn't mainly focus
on teaching academics only but also helps mold the students to be a good human
being. The good thing about the school’s vision is that they want the students to have
a sense of responsibility and be able to help address even the smallest
concerns/problems of the society.
