INTRODUCTION:
I had completed my value education in SREE SAI SARAN TRUST successfully for the duration
of ten hours. This report includes activities that I performed during the internship program, learnt
outcomes, and regarding the internship.

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

I had visited SREE SAI SARAN TRUST at Srirangam. It was a peaceful place and there I saw
many old peoples and talked with them about their life in the trust and I performed some activities
for the trust. I met Mrs.S.Sumathi, managing director of the trust, she was a talented person and
she told lots of information about the working of organization and it was very new to me.I spend
more time with the old peoples and enjoyed while talking with them.

DAY 1:
On the first day, I went to trust at 1pm. First, they gave orientation about the working of NGOs
and working of SREE SAI SARAN TRUST. Then they gave permission to interact with old
peoples living in the trust. I studied about the daily routine and behavior of grandma’s and
grandpas. Then came out and introduced ourselves to them and had a interactive session
there.Then I departed at 5 pm to our home.

DAY 2:
On the second day I bought biscuits to the old people and gave it to them. They were very happy
after receiving those biscuits and thanked me. I felt blessed when I saw happy faces of all the old
people. Then I helped some grandmas to walk and enquired about the condition of some grandpa’s
and grandmas from the doctor. I felt very happy that they are living very normal like their own
house.

I had an interaction with the inmates. After this, I came to know the pain and isolation they had to
suffer when they were left all alone by their loved ones or family. After listening to them I
understood that all they want us to just love them and care them. From this I got many lessons for
my life. Finally, I thank all the inmates for allowing me to do this kind of best internship which
will be very useful for the rest of my life.
I was very sad to see them. How can children forget their parents who were always with them to
prevent them from feeling loneliness? I felt happy with them and will continue sharing my
happiness with them. The visit to this home is fulfilling experience for me that I came home not
only with memories but lot of lessons.
RETIREMENT HOME:
A retirement home or an old age home or sometimes can also be called as nursing home. It is
a multi-residence housing facility intended for the elder. Here there are more 10 rooms separately
for women and men. Each room has minimum two old people and necessary facility like
television, chair, etc. Restroom is available in each floor and there are many helpers to take the
old people carefully to the place wherever they want to go. The trust maintaining the well
hygiene kitchen with 5 women and they serve food for each people separately in a plate at
correct time. Family members can visit the people whenever they want without any restrictions.
Doctors are also available to check various people who needs routine medical checkup etc.
These are the facilities that are available in the SREE SAI SARAN TRUST.

LEARNED OUTCOME:
During our internship, I realized that our single effort towards helping seniors’ live quality
lives can make them happy and loved. This internship made me clear about my responsibility
towards my parents and society. I realize that observation is a main element which will help you
to get the solution to any problem.

CONCLUSION:
It was the wonderful experience in SREE SAI SARAN TRUST. To care for someone who
cared for us is the highest honor. Getting old is an inevitable process. It is inherent to human
being. And with old age come maturity, wisdom and respectability. Personally, I feel caring for
the elderly aids to self-development.
