Description & Scope


Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu is undertaking the construction of Jubail Industrial City 2: Phase 3 and 4 Sea Water Cooling Station in
Jubayl.
The US$30 million project includes the following :

2. Construction of seawater cooling pump station intake structure
3. Construction of booster pumps
4. Construction of control building
5. Construction of electrical buildings
6. Construction of distributed control system
7.Construction of an emergency shutdown system
8.Construction of instrumentation works

13/12/2021 The project was in the execution stage as per the last update in April,
2020. Since then, no further information has been procured related to its
progress, nor obtainable from contact with key stakeholders. We believe
the project to still be in the execution stage and have amended the project
dates accordingly. We continue our efforts to obtain information on this
project.

09/04/2020 Finishing works are ongoing at a slow pace due to the financial issues
and the completion time frame is unknown.
27/12/2019 The project was in the execution stage as per the last update in May
2019. Since then, no further information has been procured related to its
progress, or obtainable from contact with key stakeholders. We believe
the project to still be in the execution stage and have amended the project
dates accordingly. We will continue our efforts to obtain information on
this project.
16/05/2019 This project was expected to be completed in Q4 2018, however, there is
no news in the market on the completion status at this juncture.The
completion date, therefore, has been moved to Q4 2019
19/04/2018 The construction works are ongoing on the project and is near to
completion. MEIC works are done inhouse
29/12/2017 This project was created based on a market news in year 2012. The last
update received on the project over the phone was that the construction
works on the project are ongoing and overall completion is expected by
August 2018.However, since then we have not been able to obtain a
definite update as to the status of the project. Until we obtain information
to the contrary, we will not alter the status of the project, but we have
changed the time frame to make it more accurate. In the meantime, we
will continue to try and obtain updates for this project.
22/08/2017 The construction works on the project are ongoing and overall completion
is expected by August 2018.
23/03/2017 Construction works on the project is ongoing and completion is expected
by January 2018.
08/12/2016 Construction works on the project is 95 per cent complete and time frame
for the completion is unknown.
17/11/2016 Finishing works are ongoing on the project and overall project is likely to
get complete by end of November 2016.

13/02/2013 Industry sources indicate that LOA has been singed by China
Communications Construction Company (CCCC) to develop the eastern
part of the residential area of Jubail city.The contract duration is 26
months

Communications Construction Company Ltd. (CCCC) as per article dated
October 19, 2012. The project is expected to be completed in 26 months.

In order to protect the environment by using a district air cooling system,
Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu (RCJ&Y) plans to build a seawater
cooling station in Jubail. Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu (RCJ&Y)
is planning to construct a seawater cooling plant for the Jubail Industrial
City.
