MOVIE REVIEW ON THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS 2006

The Pursuit of Happyness is a movie about a struggling salesperson who takes custody
of his son, as he is ready to begin in a life-changing experience. Chris Garner,
personally as Will Smith, is a great man who does right thing but everything seems to
be falling apart at the same time. He has experiencing difficulties including financial
problem as he loses his job and consequences in the relationship of his wife who leaves
him and moves to New York.

Without money and wife, Chris is struggling to take care of his son as he lost his job. He
relentlessly goes straight forward despite of being homeless along with his son. Until
Chris is fighting for the position of Stockbroker job against other twenty potential
candidates despite being arrested and broke. Six months of training without salary,
Chris never gives up and continue to strive and work hard. Fortunately, the manager
had chosen him as a stockbroker that serves as his permanent job and made him so
emotional. In that time, everything will be okay and they’ll live a better life now. Chris
can now lift the financial burden off his shoulder, start over, and move forward. Despite
of what things Chris has now, he faced every day with potential strength and courage.
Thus, he continually working hard and take responsibility of his job.

Generally, The Pursuit of Happyness is a story of success that starts from struggle until
all sacrifices were paid off. This movie tells us what to do in order to reach our goal in
life. Additionally, this inspires and gives motivation to those people who are hopeless
and those that are about to surrender. Although it’s a typical story, but the message
itself helps to many people to be stronger and remain resilient. It is such an emotional
story accompanied with perseverance, faith, and determination at the same time.
Furthermore, the sound effects, costumes, and the soundtracks in the movie caught
attention to many where Will Smith, also known as Chris Graner in the movie, played it
very well as it is happening in real life.

Indeed, the movie teaches us not to give up for every circumstance that comes in our
life. Although it’s an uphill climb, we should take a step towards achieving our dreams
until we arrived to our final destination. Besides, the more we experienced downfalls,
the stronger ourselves can be. Being determined in our dreams associated with courage
is the key to success. This movie proves that poverty is not a hindrance to success as
long as you work hard for it. Besides, behind every struggle lies a great success. It’s no
surprise life can be hard sometimes but it’s going to be okay along the way as we
remain standing by our own feet. We might fall off the ground, but we should stand
again and walk through the path which we deserve to be.

I am very thankful for my professor for introducing this such an inspiring and motivating
story. This is a must-watch where everyone can relate and can get moral lesson that
could be applied in real life. I also will also recommend this movie to everyone to watch
this movie for us to be more passionate and driven in chasing their dreams as well as to
have patience of when their dreams turned into reality. All things take time before you
get, wait until it’s your turn.
