CHAPTER III

RESEARCH METHOD AND PROCEDURE

This chapter relates the research design, subject of the study, the data gathering

instrument used, the data gathering procedures and statistical treatment of data used. It will be

used for accurate data analysis treatment.

RESEARCH DESIGN

This research is focused on the difficulties faced by the ABM students with their

Specialized Subjects including Fundamentals of Accountancy, Business and Management 1,

Fundamentals of Accountancy, Business and Management 2, Organization and Management,

Business Mathematics, Business Ethics or Social Responsibility, Principles of Marketing and

Applied Economics.

The main tool used by the researchers is the process of an interview, furthermore the

question were also utilize to generate the answers needed. The researchers used qualitative

method of research to gather data such as text data from interview transcripts and presents

conditions to interpret these data by analyzing the answers of respondents during interview.

This method will also used because this put emphasis on certain phenomenon. The emphasis in

qualitative analysis is "sense making" or understanding phenomenon rather than predicting or

explaining , furthermore it's needed a creative and investigative mindset. This study uses

descriptive method to assess the challenges faced by the ABM students with their Specialized

Subjects. Descriptive method is used to observe and report certain phenomena and answer

questions.

SUBJECT OF THE STUDY

 The subjects of the study were 21 students from the strand of Accountancy, Business and

Management (ABM) of San Pascual Senior High School 2 for the school year 2021-2022. The

researcher decided to make use of the simple sampling technique since it is the easiest method

to use. The researchers used random sampling technique.

DATA INSTRUMENT TO BE USED

In this inquiry, an interview is utilized to generate the responses that are required. And

the informal discussion is appropriate since it helps to generate a nice tone. Interviews are

conducted when researchers ask one or more participants broad, open-ended questions and

record their responses. Following up with individual respondents after completing

questionnaires might be beneficial in further investigating their responses. Interviews are very

beneficial for obtaining in-depth knowledge about a subject.

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

The researchers study entitled " The Difficulties of ABM Students Towards their

Specialized Subjects" intend to determine the difficulties faced by the ABM students at San

Pascual Senior High School 2. This study uses random sampling which is method that allows

for the randomization of sample selection , each sample has the same probability as other

samples to be selected to serve as representation of an entire population. The researchers

used this type for qualitative research because the main focus is to determine the different

difficulties face by the ABM Students at San Pascual Senior High School 2. Before the

researchers gathered a data and information from the random selected grade 11 and grade 12

students , a letter of consent was given to the respondents as a permission. The researchers

will ask questions to their respondents to be answered freely with their own words and opinions.

After gathering data and information, the researchers will record, summarize and study the

answer they have collected on interview.

STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA

The statistical method was applied a data set in order to transform it from a collection of

meaningless numbers into meaningful output. The researcher will utilize the following to

interpret the data gathered.

Percentage – this was used to determine the participants responses a frequency count.

Frequency - this was used to determine the number of times a certain response of the

students responders was given many times.
