Q3. (a) A motorbike travelling at 18.8 m/s bypasses a car which has just begun to
accelerate at 3.97 m/s2 from rest. If the car is to adhere to the speed limit of
90.0 km/h throughout the drive, determine the time when the car overtakes the
motorbike. (6 marks)
(b) A baseball hitter swings his bat and hits the ball at an angle of 48.3° and 1.05 m
above the ground as shown in Figure 3.1.
