CREATIVE MEDIA PRODUCTION

THE BRIEF—Level 3—PROJECT 3 LAUNCHED— 02 December 2021

Project Aim
To produce a Trailer Campaign for a new and original film or series.

Overview
More and more money is being spent on creating successful Blockbuster films and TV
series every year, for example Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker cost $275 000 000 and
Game of Thrones cost more than $10 000 000 per episode to produce. This means it is
imperative to create a successful campaign to promote the film or series, in order to
recoup that cost and earn a profit. These promotional campaigns are also now
interactive with the aim of engaging the viewer to interact with the promotion and help
spread the word.

You will produce a Video Trailer for a film or series 2 minutes in duration

RESEARCH & REFLECTION STAGE
Using Weebly you must create an individual online reflective Production Journal that documents
and reflects on each stage of your production. This should be an ongoing process and should
include all of the following content—
• Ideas Development
• Primary & Secondary Research into the following areas -
 Production — Required filmmaking equipment (Audio, Video & Editing).
 Content — Your Trailer idea (e.g Genre, Narrative, Locations, Characters, Titles, Editing
pace, Music etc).
 Marketing — The different methods of using Interactive Media. Considerations of target
audience.
• Production Photos of your crew and cast on shoot.
• Mood Boards of your Characters, Locations & Genre.

For the Research stage it is useful to consider and explain WHAT, WHY and HOW that research is
useful. (WHAT did you find out? WHY is it relevant? And HOW can it be useful for your Trailer?)
———————————————————————————————————————————————
You should also be documenting your Reflective thoughts regularly and ensure you have updated
your log after the following stages -
• Pre-production & Research stage

• Production stage (include Production photos)

• Post-Production stage (include screengrabs)

For the Reflection stages, it is useful to consider and explain WHAT, WHY and HOW you did
something. (E.g WHAT did you do? WHY did you do it? HOW was it useful?
