 LANGUAGE AND THE SCIENTIFIC STUDY OF LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT

Language is use mainly in communication and it produces a set of sound to provide not
misleading information or thoughts. Though it's mainly use in communication, Language can be
use in symbols to represent ideas, to express, for identity, play and etc. Language is socially
shared; the first characteristics of language are shared by the members of a community. We
utilize language on a regular basis to communicate with one another. Words in languages are
constructed by combining morphemes to represent a wide variety of things in the environment
surrounding the speakers of that language. Words are a powerful tool for conveying our
thoughts and feelings since they are more detailed than gestures, facial expressions, and
posture. Codes are indications that have the potential for several meanings, like it involves
knowing the patterns in spelling and connecting these patters to sounds. The patterns provided
by codes and conventions in a text that are cues for our understanding. The smallest unit of
language is called morphemes, it can carry meaning and combined to create words that refers
to one type of information into another type of information. Communication is one of the
components of Oral Language Development, the transmittal of information to others in socially
appropriate ways. Lastly, Phonological development refers to forming and using speech sounds
to clearly communicate language. As more sounds of a language are acquired, language
becomes clearer, and pronunciation, fluency, and intonation all improve. Lexicon is a spoken
language and it defined as a list of representations of lexical entries consisting of spoken word
forms paired with their other lexical properties such as spelling, pronunciation, part of speech
(POS), meaning and usage information, in such a way as to optimize lookup of any or all of
these properties. Morphology refers to the rules that govern word structure and construction,
this is to have good syntactic skills children must have a good understanding of the correct word
order and organization in utterances, whereas syntax refers to the rules that govern word
sequence and sentence structure, where Children must also have the skill to understand
increasingly complex sentences containing various types of phrases as their language
develops.
