Where’s the Cat?

FADE IN:

INT. DINING ROOM - DAY

HOLLY and LAUREN are doing homework on their laptops on the

dining room table. They are busy typing their assignments.

LAUREN
Hey, how’s your homework coming along?

HOLLY
It’s going good.
(pause)
Have you seen MABEL?

The two briefly pause for a moment, briefly making eye contact,
and realizing that they both haven’t seen MABEL the cat for a
while now.

HOLLY and LAUREN look around the kitchen for her cat MABEL. They

and if the oven door closed on her.

HOLLY and LAUREN walk towards the oven door.

HOLLY
Should we check?

LAUREN
Okay, sure. (nods in agreement)

HOLLY
MABEL?
(pause)
MABEL?

HOLLY and LAUREN sit across from each other in the bedroom to
think of another plan.

HOLLY
I can’t find her.

LAUREN
Me neither, want to make some flyers?

HOLLY
That sounds like a good idea. I got some supplies
right here. Let’s do this!

HOLLY and LAUREN proceed to craft some homemade flyer portraits

of MABEL. Written on the flyers are “LOST CAT” and “MISSING CAT”.

HOLLY
How does this look? (holds up her flyer)

LAUREN
Pretty good, how about this one? (holds up her
flyer)

HOLLY
Pretty good, ready to hang them up?

LAUREN
Yes. (nods in agreement)

LAUREN
I thought you were looking for the cat!

HOLLY
I thought you were looking for the cat!

LAUREN
Then who’s looking for the cat?!

HOLLY
Well, no one is now… okay, come on, let’s go.

LAUREN and HOLLY walk up her street a bit and LAUREN hears a
“meow” sound.

LAUREN
I think I heard the “meow” from over there.
(points)

HOLLY
Ya, me too.

HOLLY walks over to a large climbing tree in her neighborhood

where she hears the “meow sound coming from.

HOLLY
Alright, I’m going to look in this tree because
maybe she climbed up it. MABEL? MABEL?

After looking for several minutes HOLLY finds a pusheen cat

stuffed animal meowing.
LAUREN
Did you find the cat making the sound?

HOLLY
I think so?

LAUREN
What? This is a pusheen?!

HOLLY
Long story…

HOLLY comes down from the tree after tossing the stuffed cat to
LAUREN.

EXT. HOLLY’s DRIVEWAY - DAY

HOLLY and LAUREN decide to split up again.
