MODULE-1 Marks CO BTL
Explain the output lines will set and reset for different input combinations in a
1. a. 7 CO1 L2
MS JK flip-flop with neat diagrams.
By applying suitable principles of Digital System Design, implement the
following function pairs using 74138 Decoder. Also write the truth table for
the given functions.
a. f1(a, b, c) = ∑ (0, 1, 3, 5, 6)
b. 8 CO3 L3
f2 (a, b, c) = ∑ (1, 3, 4, 6, 7)

b. f1(a, b, c) = ∑ (0, 5, 7)
f2 (a, b, c) = ∑ (2, 3, 5, 6)
OR
Explain how a carry look-ahead adder can generate the carry status required
2. a. 7 CO1 L2
by all the stages of full adder so that the ripple effect is eliminated.
By applying suitable principles of Digital System Design, implement a priority
encoder with four inputs, with the MSB having highest priority encoding to 01,
b. 8 CO3 L3
the (MSB-1) having next priority encoding to 10, the (MSB-2) having next
priority encoding to 11, while the LSB with the least priority encoding to 00.
MODULE-2
By applying suitable principles of Digital System Design, implement a 3-bit
3. a. 8 CO3 L3
binary to gray code converter using 4:1 multiplexer.
By applying suitable principles of Digital System Design, implement a
b. 7 CO3 L3
sequential circuit that senses the debouncing action of a switch using 𝑆̅𝑅̅ 𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑐ℎ.
OR
By applying suitable principles of Digital System Design, implement the
following functions using an 8 to 1 line multiplexer where a, b, c are connected
4. a. to address lines a2, a1 and a0 respectively. 8 CO3 L3
