Subject: Teaching English Language Art in the Elementary Grades
I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the forty-minute lesson, the pupils will be able to:
1. Differentiate the short and long vowel sound.
2. Pronounce correctly the words using the two vowel sounds.
3. Demonstrate the value of respect in a short skit, where the dialogue used reflects words
having short vowel sound and long vowels sound.

For example, in the word C A R, A
is a vowel and we form the word
CAR through these letters.

In the word F I T, ‘I’ is a vowel.
