3. Barriers – these are the factors that affect the process of conveying messages. It prevents the
receiver from receiving and understanding the information the sender sends.

Types of barriers:

• External barriers are environment related factors that affect the communication, these are
physical factors that are unpredictable and inevitable. The occurrence of external barriers varies from
the type of environment the communication have.

• Internal barriers are self-related factors that affect the communication. This corresponds to
hindrances inside of us, including our thinking, attitude, perceptions, as well as the way we
communicate and also our physiological and psychological disabilities.

4. Cipher – the process of transforming or generating a message in a verbal or non-verbal manner

//is the process of turning thoughts into communication. The encoder uses a ‘medium’ to send the
message

5. Decipher - the method of analyzing and interpreting the message passed by the initiator.

//is the process of turning communication into thoughts.

6. Medium - refers to the means or channels used in conveying the ciphered message.

//a medium is a channel or system of communication—the means by which information (the message) is
transmitted between a speaker or writer (the sender) and an audience (the receiver).

7. Environment these refers to the setting or context where the communication happens.

//The Environment

The environment is the atmosphere, physical and psychological, where you

send and receive messages. Things like the location, medium, atmosphere,
clothing of speakers, etc., all make up the environment in which the
communication takes place.

The Context

expectations of the individuals involved. Context is all about what people
expect from each other. We often create those expectations out of

A barrier is mostly interpreted as an obstacle in communication but there are instances that it has a
good effect towards communication. This will be further explained during the video clip.

the video clip was entitled ang babaeng walang pakiramdam, in the clip or the communication of in the
clip shows how related each components in the model are. The commnucation happened in a evening
setting , which usually time most of the stores close plus the disinterest aspect of the vendor towards
the the initiator which has a physiological disability allowed the pagsira faster, but then involving Filipino
culture, it is a disrespect not to intertain a customer thus the store is not fully closed which allowed the
communication to happen. During the communication the internal barriers both the sender and
feedbackers have allowed the supposedly short conversation to be long , the barrier delayed or
distrupted the deciphering process though it was delayed what the initiator wants to say was
successfully delivered. Though the process of communication was hard it was interactive
