II. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A presentation on Disaster Preparedness and Mitigation is a conversation aimed at raising disaster

awareness among Pandacan locals. This would enable people to be more prepared and watchful in the
event of a calamity in their barangays. Because we cannot predict when or where a catastrophe will
strike, it will be good to promote knowledge and understanding about what a disaster is and the various
variables that it can effect.

III. PROJECT RATIONALE

Every year, the Philippines is battered by an average of 20 typhoons, and many other natural
catastrophes might strike at any time. It is critical to raise awareness so that Pandacan locals would know
what to do in the event of a crisis, allowing them to avoid making costly mistakes. This project is
important since it will not only examine typhoons, but also other catastrophes such as earthquakes, fires,
and many more. It will be beneficial for them to know catastrophe information so that they do not panic
and make matters worse.

IV. PROJECT BENEFICIARIES
