ARTISTS ART CONTRIBUTION

Leonardo da Vinci
Leonardo da Vinci was famous for his designs, art, cartography, geology,
and studies. Leonardo's designs later helped us to invent things like the
tank, parachute, helicopter and many other things. He was also a very
talented artist. Most of his pictures and paintings are in art galleries and
museums. One of his most known paintings is the Mona Lisa. He made
many maps of many different places. He was also interested in geology.
He studied many different things, including math, reading, and writing
backwards. People think he wrote backwards because he didn't want to
smear the ink, but others thought he didn't want people to steal his
ideas.
Vincent van Gogh Some of his most famous works include Starry Night, Sunflowers, and The
Bedroom at Arles. His expressive and emotive use of color and distinct
brushwork became hugely popular and massively influenced
Expressionism, Fauvism and early abstraction as well as various other
aspects of 20th-century art.
Claude Monet Claude Monet achieved fame for being the initiator, leader, and
unswerving advocate of the Impressionist style. In his work he did not try
to reproduce a scene faithfully as examined in detail but rather
attempted to record on the spot the impression that a relaxed,
momentary vision of the scene gave him.
Pablo Picasso He helped invent Cubism and collage. He revolutionized the concept of
constructed sculpture. The new techniques he brought to his graphic
works and ceramic works changed the course of both art forms for the
rest of the century. Picasso's story as an artist isn't one of quantity over
quality.
Henri Matisse Henri Matisse is widely regarded as the greatest colorist of the 20th
century. The French artist used color as the foundation for his expressive,
decorative and large-scale paintings. He once wrote that he sought to
create art that would be “a soothing, calming influence on the mind,
rather like a good armchair”.
Frida Kahlo Her colorful, bold art and self-portraits have left a lasting impression on
the artist Frida Kahlo. Among the Mexicans, she is admired for drawing
attention to Mexican and indigenous culture, and among feminists for
portraying the experiences and forms of women. She painted 143 self-
portraits, 55 of which were her own
Jackson Pollock Later, a series of influences came together to guide Pollock to his mature
style: years spent painting realist murals in the 1930s showed him the
power of painting on a large scale; Surrealism suggested ways to describe
the unconscious; and Cubism guided his understanding of picture space
Salvador Dali In the 1920s, he went to Paris and began interacting with artists such as
Pablo Picasso, René Magritte and Miró, which led to Dalí's first Surrealist
phase. He is perhaps best known for his 1931 painting The Persistence of
Memory, showing melting clocks in a landscape setting.
Edgar Degas Image result for Edgar degas and their art contributions
Degas's academic training encouraged a strong classical tendency in his
art, which conflicted with the approach of the Impressionists. While he
valued line as a means to describe contours and to lend solid
compositional structure to a picture, they favored color, and more
concentration on surface texture.
Paul Cezanne Cezanne was a precursor to Picasso's Cubism and his work became a
catalyst for 20th-century abstract painting. He also made significant
contributions to Surrealist art and media, including collage, welded
sculpture, and ceramics, clays, 3D paintings.

Process Questions:

1. Why people tends to be confused about artists and artisans?

 Most people are perplexed by the terms "artist" and "artisan," despite the fact that there is a
significant difference between the two. An artist is someone who engages in any of the creative
arts. This can include anything from painting to music. An artisan, on the other hand, is a skilled
craftsperson who creates items by hand. Because both words involve the creation of something,
the definitions of the two words can be quite confusing. The key distinction is that, whereas an
artisan's product or output has a clear functional value, an artist's product or output may not.

2.Give the similarities and differences of an artists and artisans.

 The only thing they have in common is SKILL, and that is it. Tradition, conventions, techniques,
and standard designs constrain the artisan. An artist is free to express his imagination, emotions,
or experiments with any medium, at any time.
 An artist is someone who engages in any of the creative arts. This can include anything from
painting to music. In contrast, an artisan is a skilled worker who creates things by hand. The key
distinction is that, whereas an artisan's product or output has a clear functional value, an artist's
product or output may not.

3. How do artists and artisans express their expressions and emotions through arts and crafts?

 Artists create art that conveys to us their thoughts and feelings about various topics. Artists
express their emotions through various lines, shapes, and colors. Each artist selects colors, lines,
and shapes that are meaningful to them. Artists frequently create things to express their
feelings about something. They sometimes draw what music "looks" like or what it feels like to
be happy, scared, angry, or peaceful. Many of these images do not have to include "objects."
Shapes, colors, and patterns can all be used by artists to express their ideas.

4. What would you want to become? An artist or an artisan and why?

 Why do I want to be an artist? because we are always able to express ourselves creatively We
intended to share our creativity with the world as artists. There are numerous ways to express
ourselves through art. Art and the act of creation allow us to learn and grow on a continuous
basis. We may learn new techniques or practice to improve, but we will always evolve as artists.

5. What is the significance of studying about artists and artisans? Explain.

 Artists and artisans, in my opinion, are important to study because they teach us about human
creativity, ingenuity, innovation, and imagination. We learn from other artists and artisans'
experiences, skills, and knowledge. Artistic knowledge passed down through the generations
aids in the creation and development of new progressive ideas. Humans distinguish themselves
from the rest of creation through their creativity, ingenuity, innovation, and imagination.

5.What is visual Art?

The visual arts are art forms that create works that are primarily visual in nature, such as ceramics,
drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, crafts, photography, video, film making and
architecture. These definitions should not be taken too strictly as many artistic disciplines (performing
arts, conceptual art, textile arts) involve aspects of the visual arts as well as arts of other types. Also
included within the visual arts are the applied arts such as industrial design, graphic design, fashion
design, interior design and decorative art.
