YOUR ANSWERS
Your choice of topic: __1__
Nowadays, the development of technology goes with the development of education. A lot of new

technological devices were used in teaching to help students quickly understand such as computers,

e-books, etc. Some people said that: “Reading books should be a compulsory part of a school day.”

And I have the same point with them.

Firstly, applying technology in education is good, but if the students must work with the devices

every day, in a long period of time, it may bring disadvantages for them. For example, studying

with computers too long may easily cause eyestrain and myopic. On the other hand, reading books

is hardly to harm the eyes. Therefore, reading books is a good way to keep the students’ eyes

healthy and it must appear in schedule of a school day.

Secondly, reading books gives students many advantages such as highly concentration, knowledge

acquisition and vocabulary improvement. When reading an interesting book, people usually want to

read the whole book for the storyline, and this helps advance your concentration in working or

studying. (Healthline). Besides, many useful information in the book can give people knowledge to

solve problems in life. Also, reading books can help improve vocabulary in both speaking and

writing, which is very helpful for students.

Many people think that: “Why reading books is compulsory when at school, the students just study

through their teacher is enough?”. They have a point in thinking like that. However, what this

argument fails to consider is the teacher must read the textbooks first so they can prepare the

lecture for their students. Not only the teacher read textbooks, but also the students should read the

textbooks to generally understand of what the teacher is talking in the lecture. That’s why reading

books is important and should be a compulsory part at school.

In conclusion, reading books not only keep a good pair of eyes for students, but also bring

advantages in helping students improve their abilities so it should be an obligatory part at school.

And in the future, I hope every schools will have a books club, so that the students who are

interested in reading books can have a place to share good books with each other and express their

love to books.
