LAC Topic School Child Protection Policy


Learning Objectives  To provide clear direction to staff and
others about expected codes of
behavior in dealing with child
protection issues.
 Show self-awareness on the different
roles and challenges of parents,
teachers and pupils in the School
Child Protection Policy.
 Participates actively in the given
activity
REPORTS ON THE FLOW OF ACTIVITIES
INTRODUCTION To ensure that every child will have a
safe environment, Kawit Elementary School
teachers set a commitment to the
development of good practice and
procedures in order that child protection
referrals may be handled sensitively,
professionally and in ways that support the
needs of the child, and has been developed
in accordance with the procedures.

This topic aimed to give awareness to the


teachers the different roles and challenges
of parents, teachers and pupils in the said
policy. This allows them to determine these
roles and challenges and extend
understanding and provide technical
assistance to the learners at risk if being
encountered. This topic also utilizes
teacher’s resiliency and adeptness in
interacting with the given activity.
ACTIVITY The facilitator Bebiana P. Tan had
started the session with an opening prayer,
nationalistic song energizer and an opening
remark. The session was formally opened
with the SLAC Coordinator Master Teacher II
Mary Elsie A. Gavenia and immediately
followed with the session entitled “School
Child Protection Policy” facilitated by the
Master Teacher I Bebiana P. Tan
First, she introduced the word
challenge and ask words they can associate
with the word challenge then she grouped
them into three and give them an activity to
work on. She assigned group I to give the
challenges encountered by the parents,
group II challenges encountered by the
teachers and group III are the challenges
encountered by the pupils. Then, the group
presented and reported the assigned task.
She elaborated the topic on the” Roles of
Parents, Teachers and Pupils in the
implementation of the policy.

Did you realized that parents, teachers and
pupils are facing new roles and challenges
in the Implementation of the Child
Protection Policy?
What are the advantages of being aware of
the different roles and challenges brought
about by the Child Protection Policy?

ABSTRACTION Being aware of the different roles and


challenges of teachers, parents and pupils
in the implementation of the Child
Protection Policy and being able to
determine these roles and challenges would
positively help each teacher that will lead to
better understanding and therefore can
address the pupils needs provide assistance
and provide proper assessment.
SYNTHESIS As Deped’s ensure the safety and protection
continuity plan among learners it also sets
and provides opportunity to parents and
teachers to become aware of the different
roles and challenges they will be facing. It
assures teachers to be able to cope with the
different challenges along the way and
learned how to address it.
CLOSURE/AGREEMENTS It is a challenge to every teachers to be
aware and be knowledgeable of the
different roles and challenges in the
implementation of the Child Protection
Policy.
