SCHOOL TRAFFIC
MANAGEMENT
Set-up clear and easy-to-understand
signages to strengthen observance of health
protocols and protective measures
The goal of this paper is to present concrete plan for school traffic management as
per SSAT check list compliance for Arts and Designs class of 23 students as pilot
class for the prospect of Limited Face-to-face classes.
a. Display school map at the entrance point indicating the location of the classrooms.
e. Designation of areas for queue (e.g., restroom, library, principal’s office, etc.)
NARRATIVE
The Assistant Principal Jonathan B. Tabia called for SSAT Composite Team meeting last February 22,
2022 for the compliance of SSAT Checklist and a follow-up meeting this March 1, 2022. We
1. We have decided to put two locator maps to assist students in the school traffic flow to
strengthen the observance of health protocols. One locator map will be placed at the
entrance of the 4th Gate (Figure 1.a) where both students and stakeholders most of the time
merge. The second locator map will be placed along the road towards the 4 th Gate (Figure
1.b) or the gate designated for the Senior High. This locator map will indicate the actual
location of map and the general perspective of the site. This map will give visual directions as
to where the Senior High would be situated in the site map giving options where to proceed.
The map will indicate what building will be used and where it is located in the actual site.
This map will provide a general indicator for entering and exiting the designated building in
the site.
2. During the onsite visit at the new Senior High Building, the team set the classroom traffic for
the pilot class. The building has four passageways as part of the building structure. The team
decided to use only two (2) of those passageway and seal off the other two (Figure 2.a). The
purpose of such decision is to regulate the going in and out and the passing in and out as
part of the classroom traffic. We used the “KEEP RIGHT” rule in regulating the traffic in the
vicinity (Figure 2.b). Aside from the keep right rule, we will be adding floor markings for
distances in lines and arrow heads for traffic directions (Figure 2.c). The team proposed to
follow standard rules for placing floor directions using colored stickers.
3. Together with the Assistant Principal Jonathan B. Tabia, the composite team selected from
among the available rooms at the Senior High Building and designated Room 1 as “Isolation
Room;” Room 2 for “Clinic;” Room 3 for “Production Room;” and, Room 4 for “Class Room.”
The building has two (2) built-in Comport Rooms situated at the ground floor. The team
designated one Comfort room as “Wash Room” and the other as the actual “Comfort Room
(Figure 3.a).” This is plausible since all of the 23 students of the Arts and Design Pilot class
are all women. The room itself will be a 3 by 4 sitting as pilot standard for taken by the
Senior High (Figure 3.b). The sitting distance from the front wall will be 2 meters and the
next set of four (4) rows will be distances by 1.5 meters. The three (3) columns of chairs
from the entrance will be spaced by 2 meters and 1.5 meters from the wall. Thus the 7 by 8
