Junior Agronomist - On Contract

Post Code 35/01/S

Age Criteria Not more than 27 years as on the date of advertisement


Qualification MSc in Agricultural Science (Preferably in Agronomy/Agricultural & Soil
Chemistry/Soil Science) – 02 years full time course with min. 55% marks from
reputed university.

Experience Minimum 2 years post MSc experience (excluding training) in


Fertilizer/Agrochemical industries or other R&D organizations.

Purpose To conduct field trials of Agrochemical products developed by R&D of GSFC


and to provide support to the fertilizer development research.
Key  Provide input to Fertilizer research team regarding developments in
Performance the field of agronomy
Areas  Plan and execute field scale testing programs including field/lab
testing of fertilizer products and ground breaker trials for new products
 Recording various agronomic traits (e.g. emergence uniformity,
flowering date, lodging, height, maturity, shattering resistance etc. ) in
a timely manner throughout the growing season from harvest plots and
collect samples for quality and statistical analysis
 Develop, maintain and implement the use of controlled Standard
Operational Procedure (SOP) documents and investigative protocols
 Collaborate with other agronomic researchers, site leads and principal
investigators in order to facilitate efficient trial planning and
placement, sharing of ideas and techniques and quick response to
issues that may arise
 Perform field selection, develop co-operator relations for farmers field
trials
 Adhere to compliance/safety policies, utilization of tools and time
management
 Give technical support and training for fertilizer dealers and sales team
 Provide technical information for fertilizer trait and chemistry of
products
 Communicate agronomic positioning and benefits of fertilizer
products
 Develop and install confidence in product recommendations and
tailored solutions
 Implementation of crop schedule
 Data and testimonial collection for further analysis and
communication
 Collecting, assessing and examining samples

 Analysis and interpreting data


 Modelling information using specialist computer applications and
preparing reports, and publications
 Perform soil analysis in relation to field trials
 Investigate responses of specific soil types to soil management
practices, such as fertilization, crop rotation, and industrial waste
control
 Conducts experiments on farms or experimental stations to determine
best soil types and fertilizer for different plants
 Implement research & development programs for soil research
 Prepare documented reports of research trials

Remuneration The selected candidate shall undergo contractual appointment for 3 years and
renewal shall be subject to satisfactory performance and requirement of the Company
at that point of time. On completion of contractual period, he/she shall be absorbed in
regular grade of the Company subject to satisfactory performance and at that time
shall be required to execute a Service Agreement to serve the Company for a period
of 3 years. In case of breach, you shall be liable to pay the Company an amount of
Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) in lieu of liquidated damages.

Recruit shall be paid monthly lump-sum remuneration of Rs. 12,500/- per month.
Annual increment as per company rules. This remuneration is subject to revision.
Job Location Current location is Vadodara, however recruit may be placed at any other
department/unit/depot of the company.
