DESCRIPTION HOW TO USE

Dow Corning® 290 Paintable
Release Agent consists of a stable
50% polyalkyl, alkaryl siloxane
fluid in water emulsion. The
silicone oil phase is compatible
with many organic finishing agents
(paints/coatings/adhesives).
Dow Corning 290 Paintable Release
Agent can be recommended for
the release of articles where
post-finishing is required.
Wipe, brush or spray the emulsion,
usually diluted. Recommended
starting dilution is 1:100
(Dow Corning 290 Paintable Release
Agent to water). The user is
recommended to determine the best
conditions of dilution and application
on a test sample before using in
production.
Breaking in the surface of a new or
freshly cleaned molds is best done by
applying a light coat of undiluted
release agent and running the empty
mold through one or two heat cycles.
After excess residual base fluid is
wiped from the surface, the mold is
ready for use.
Post-finishing
Dow Corning 290 Paintable Release
Agent shows excellent compatibility
with many enamels and lacquers,
but users should continue to use
standard cleaning procedures prior
to post-finishing.

USABLE LIFE AND
STORAGE
When stored at or below 50°C in the
original unopened containers, this
product has a usable life of 12 months
from the date of production.
PACKAGING
This product is available in 190 kg
(420 lbs) drums.
LIMITATIONS
This product is neither tested nor
represented as suitable for medical or
pharmaceutical uses.
