COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Two midterm exams and one final exam will be given as well as
quizzes. The exams will cover the topics in the Required Readings and Lectures and may include topics
and readings that will be posted on the course website.

GRADING: The final grade will be the weighted average of exams and quizzes. The weights are:
First exam: 25%
Second Exam: 25%
Quizzes: 10%
Final Exam: 40%

• Extra points will be added to the grade for the attendance of more than half of the class period.
• Penalty points will be deducted from the grade for the absence of more than half of the class period.
• There will be no make-up exams for the quizzes and the midterm exams. If you miss any of the
exams by a valid reason and a documentation, your final exam grade will count twice
to replace the missing grade with 25% weight for any of the midterm exams and 10% weight for any
of the quizzes.

IMPORTANT NOTES: When you receive your final letter grade at the end of the semester, please do
not contact me or the teaching assistant to request a higher grade. In communications and discussions,
you are expected to avoid disrupting the lectures and please refrain yourself from class distractions.
