Work Done-
On 28th Jan I was instructed by agency to visit the ICDS centre
situated in Bambaiya Harlal Village and contribute there. The
ICDS centre is situated near the middle school and approx 35
children’s were present there when I visited. The day started with
the prayer of children and they were standing in proper queue.
After the prayer I tried a small activity of introducing their name.
After that they started their daily activity and I was observing them
silently. The kids were heavily engaged in themselves and they
were quite familiar with each other. They were doing activity with
proper participation and enthusiasm whether it is poem reciting or
playing some games or basic introduction to alphabets. Then after
I went to see the process of preparing the meals for children’s.
The cook was maintaining the proper hygiene while cooking the
food and also the diet was in accordance with the official
guidelines. During the rest of time some of the pregnant and
lactating mothers visited the centre and they were attended by the
worker properly. Also I visited the home of one new born baby
with the centre in charge and she checked whether both are all
right or not.

Observation and Analysis-: It was my first interaction with small

children’s and I was amazed to see the learning skill of them
despite of living in rural areas. They were easily recognising the
things present in surroundings.

Use of Theory-: The basic skills such as communication and

active listening were used by me. Also I tried some fun activities
with them in small groups.

Difficulties Faced:- According to me it was not difficult but while

handling a group of small children you definitely needs a lot of
patience as children’s are full of energy.

Future Plan:- I requested the workers present at centre to

continue the activities which I tried.
