2) The reasons

Error code 449 (SPN157-FMI 0) is activated when the


sensed rail fuel pressure exceeds the opening pressure of the rail relief
valve

(2) EFC stuck

The “449 error” is a quite dangerous error because


it appears when the fuel rail pressure reaches to
1800bar (limitation value).

Possible cause:
EFC valve stuck :
If it is stuck by debris (or other material), the fuel
supply amount is not controlled well anymore.
Check fuel filter  is it correctly mounted ? Due
to clogging and due to foreign particles the fuel
will not be filtered well, which can lead to EFC
malfunction.
Check actuator & harness linked to actuator (or
ECM or fuel sensor).
