1. What do you feel when you read/hear the lyrics of the song oyayi sa mundo?​
When i read the lyrics of the song called “Oyayi sa Mundo” I felt the sadness in my face
due to some phrases in song like “Maghilom ang mga sugat sa iyong dibdib”. Maybe the
character in the song has something bad happening in his/her life.
2. What do you think is the artist's intention/inspiration in writing the song?
I believe that the artist who wrote the lyrics inspires the world to speak for the hope of
others and to calm our mother’s raging heart.
3. Do you agree that the world needs healing? Why? Why Not?
As I see it, the world needs a healing, from what is just happening right now that we
experience pandemic around the world and the ranging climate change, a lot of
disasters and the disasters experienced by our Mother Earth occured due to our own
negligence. Forest fires, melting the ice in the two poles die in global warming, pollution
in both air, land, water, and many more things humans have made just for their own
convenience. So I believe that our world definitely needs healing in order for it to go to its
normal state.

Activity 3: Defend the Environment

Title: Make a Movement
I. Introduction:
The construction of New Hope Dam needs research and consultation with the
environmental planner and those people who live in the City for the safety purposes of
biodiversity and the people who might be affected by the construction. The government
gave the idea to lessen and ease the water shortage in the City. But the thing is that idea
will give a larger problem to the environment as well as the people that have been in that
area for a very long time.

II. Body:
One main problem that I've seen in the situation is that the dam will be constructed
in an ancestral domain, this happened in most indigenous people. Because they have
less power and less protection from the government, their rights will not get attention
from the government and in the end the government will prevail. But as citizens I have
the power to speak up, in this time that the youth are eager to be aware of what is
happening to the environment, we can create a movement to be heard by the
government. Another problem that I noticed is that the construction of the dam will
damage the biodiversity of the animals as well as the plants. At this time that we have
been experiencing floods and landslides during the rainy season, we need more plants
and trees to absorb the water. But if the dam was in that area then there are more larger
consequences of building the dam. Animals like birds, and other mammals will be
endangered due to destruction of their homes, and this might be the reason to become
extinct.
III. Conclusion
As I believe, this construction will ease the shortage of water from the city, like
what other cities have done. For example the construction of Magat dam in Cagayan. I
can say that other developed countries can do the same thing just like in the scenario,
they can build dams in that location but they can protect the environment, for example
they move the trees from other locations, but it needs a huge amount of money to do
both. In case in our country that foriegn company will be the one who is responsible for
the construction, I believe that it will be a win-win program for the construction as well as
the conservation of the environment. I believe that the best foreign company must come
from Japan, because the Japanese really care for the environment. In conclusion, the
government should hire a Japanese Company and hire an Environmental Planner to
make the construction of New Hope Dam successful. With that, both the water shortage
and ecological crisis will be addressed.
