BK2: Goal Setting: Write a Reflective Blog on your short-term goals

1. What is your short-term goal? (while you are in FEU)

2. What or who has influenced your goals?
3. What can hinder you from achieving your goals?
It is hard to set expectations and standards in the middle of a pandemic. Because of the virus,
we are required to stay at home to lessen the case of the rapidly spreading of the virus. My
short-term goal is to graduate from this school which is Far Eastern University with my new
friends and block mates. As a new FEU student, I established certain personal goals for myself.
While I am still studying at FEU, I want to have fun with my new friends. Because sometimes
drowning in projects, formative assessments, summative assessments, research, tasks, and
deadlines can also be physically, psychologically, and emotionally exhausting. It’s important for
me to surround myself with people who can help me forget about my problems now and then.
Furthermore, as a student, nothing is more essential to me than getting outstanding grades.
This year, I’d like to improve my grades and establish some decent study habits. In addition, I
have a long list of things I want to accomplish this year. Getting better marks is one of the most
significant components. In reality, there are a lot of steps to try to make my dream come true.
I’ve got to keep track of my homework and write down all my assignments and tasks. I’d
improve more to change my study habits. And anyway, having so many rests can also be a bad
idea, too.
I’ve only been staying in FEU for 3 ½ months. My short-term goals first are to have high grades
and hopefully belong to the dean list this first semester. I have been working so hard this past 3
½ months in my academics because I really want to be on the dean’s list and make my parents
proud of me, especially my aunt who educates me and pays for my tuition fee. And also, this
includes passing the battery exam that we will be having in our second year and graduating
from Far Eastern University as a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) student. The second
is to gain more friends I have been actually pretty good at this because I’m an introverted kind
of person and I am having a hard time finding friends before because I always tend to wait for
them to talk to me first rather than me talking to them first. But now, I am slowly learning to
socialize more and how to be the one to talk first. And third is to be part of the student council-
IABF (hopefully).
Who influenced my goals is myself because I want to pursue this course for my parents, of
course, to help them. And my block mate in FEU Manila was the one who also inspired and
influenced me to do all the tasks earlier because she tends not to stress and cram whenever the
deadlines are coming up. She finished her FA’s and requirements days before the submission so
that there is nothing more to think about. So, I should also take my time wisely, prioritize doing
my requirements so that I have nothing to worry about my schoolwork.
The hinder from achieving my goals is the thoughts in my mind the “what ifs”, that I would not
make it but it just a thought and I will do all things and my best to make my parents proud and
to achieve my goals in life. In order to achieve my goals, I need to change my behavior and
eventually become a better version of myself.
