Created by Brenda Tejeda

1. Print and laminate or copy onto cardstock. Hole-punch and place on word
ring for children to practice independently (picture-supported sentence
facilitates this).
2. The pack has assessment sheets, certificates for when students master
each set of 25 words, tips and ideas, and class assessment at-a-
glance sheet.

1. Print and laminate card sheets. Cut off sentence. Fold over large card
and staple or tape to keep closed. Students can practice in several ways:
• Read, trace and spell the large word side, then read in a sentence
• If they don’t know the word, they can use the sentence support to figure it
out, then trace and spell.
• Preview sight words in your guided reading book before starting your
lesson.
• Put these in a spelling center for practice.
• Post these on your spelling board for the week, or on your word wall after
learning.
2. Use sentences in a small pocket chart with a small group. Have students mix
and fix to put in order, using clues like capitals and punctuation. 2
