Transformational leadership style enhances the motivation, morale, and performance of followers through a

variety of mechanisms. I strongly believe that this is one of the most ideal leadership styles today.
Transformational leaders inspire employees in ways that go beyond exchanges and rewards. This approach can
increase a team’s intrinsic motivation by expressing the value and purpose behind the organization’s goals.
Fortunately, this is also the leadership style being implemented in our school. How did I say so? Let me explain
further.

As transformational leaders work with their employees to implement effective change, they rely on things like
communication, adaptability, and support. In practice, this leadership style comprises four primary elements
which our school principal also possess.
First is the Individualized consideration —
Transformational leaders listen to employees’ concerns and needs so they can provide adequate support. Every
Wednesday, we conduct our weekly Faculty Meeting. This is our chance to communicate not only with the
principal but to other department heads, master teachers and administrators about our concerns, suggestions,
and feedback.
They operate from the understanding that what motivates one person may not motivate someone else. Hence,
we were grouped according to subject areas or grade level. As a result, they’re able to adapt their management
styles to accommodate various individuals on their team.

Next element is inspirational motivation. Our school leaders always encourage us to exceed expectations and to
work with the same vision. It allows us to have a strong sense of purpose. They continue challenging us thru tasks
and special assignments. Despite the hardships brought by the pandemic, they remain optimistic and motivating
about our goals.

Another element is the Idealized influence

As a Transformational leader, our principal exhibits ethical behavior. Her moral conduct earns a necessary
level of respect and trust from us. She is always working hard, accommodating, and open to new ideas.

The last element she possessed is the intellectual stimulation. She challenged all of us to do better by
learning ICT at the onset of sy 2020-2021. Most of the teachers, especially the tenured ones were not really
into technology. Thus, our school administration conducted series of online training on how to operate
zoom, google meet, Streamyard and other platforms. These trainings come in handy. We are all prepared
when the school officially started.

It also helps that they foster an environment where its safe to asked, to be creative and discuss diverse
perspectives. We felt empowered and valued as teachers.

Aside from these elements, majority of our school leaders also possess essential traits such as self-
awareness, open mindedness, adaptability and innovative, proactive, and humility. While these traits and
habits do not apply to everyone in school, it helps that our principal is a very good leader. She knows how to
handle and manage things with compassion and consideration.
