1) It has always been my ultimate goal to be passionate and dedicated to the things that matter
to me. As an educator, I am very passionate about my profession because this is not just a
profession to me. This is one of my greatest blessings. This is the bread and butter of my
family and through this profession, we were able to achieve our dreams, little by little, one
step at a time. Almost every educator would say that teaching is an art; that is why teachers
are also artists. In my almost 7 years of teaching, there are times that I shudder but there
are absolute times that I have also given my absolute best. One time a certain group of
higher individuals in the Department of Education visited the school and conducted
observation classes to selected teachers. I was one of the chosen few who was observed
and not to mention, during that school year, I was teaching MAPEH which is not my field
of specialization. I used all the necessary learning materials and strategies that I know just
to pour out my best self during the classroom observation. The result was very good, and
I was commended for a lively class in MAPEH and for having such a good command of
the English language. The person who went into my room and observed how I handle my
class was the Education Program Specialist in MAPEH. In my almost 4 years of public
teaching, that was one of the best moments in school by far. At the end of every school
year, we are to conduct a checking of students’ forms. I had sleepless nights making sure
that all the necessary forms have precise information and contain little to no mistakes. Not
to mention the hassle of redoing it when a single mistake is sited. With all the necessary
preparations, it turned out that I was one of the teacher-advisers who got no mistakes in
all of the students’ records. Well, this may seem a mundane achievement but to a public-
school teacher like me, this is one big reason to celebrate. Handling a number of 50
students and making 50 report cards with handwritten grades on them, and 50 school forms
that have to match up with each other and must have no single erasures is such one huge
task. I have invested all my time, effort, and dedication to this endeavor and my labor was
not in vain when the checking committee congratulated and acknowledged my work.
Truly, when you put your hard work and heart into something, you will not regret the end-
result. You have nothing but praise and thanksgiving to the One who gives you all these
things.

2) Performance should be paired with rubrics. This way, the students will know what you are
expecting from them. If you set high standards, the students will strive hard to meet that
requirement. They may also be given the chance to critique each other’s work. In this
manner, they will learn not only from the teacher but also from each other’s work. They
may learn a technique or two from the other and add it up to their own editing styles.
Learning is a collaborative process and at the same time learning is continuous. One can
hone his/her skill over time to the fullest through constant practice. As the renowned
educational American philosopher John Dewey said, students must interact with their
environment in order to adapt and learn.

3) One of the challenges brought about by the pandemic is the conduct of modular classes.
Most of the learners nowadays do not have an interest in reading especially when the
article is too long, or the reading material is too dull. One way of stimulating students’
interest is through putting illustrations and pictures in the reading material. Through these,
they can have a clearer representation of the things at hand. Another way of stimulating
students’ interest is through project diagrams. Project diagram can aid in planning and
organizing the thought which gives student’s the avenue to express ideas in mind.
Providing engaging and well-prepared powerpoint slides may also be integrated. These
are some of the things that can be done when the student works or learns alone. In instances
where group learning is encouraged, a teacher can incorporate online educational games.
There are a lot of online applications and software that a teacher may use to encourage
optimum participation of learners. To name a few, we have the Kahoot which may be
downloaded by students to their mobile phones or may be accessed through the Kahoot
website. This platform gives student’s opportunity to learn, enjoy and collaborate among
classmates.

4) As 21st century educator who wishes to build 21st-century learners, we need to keep abreast
with all the educational advancements. With this in mind, we need to educate ourselves on
the new trends in education and technology. There are a lot of opportunities at hand and
all we have to do is to grab every opportunity. One of those is reading educational blogs.
The internet is an invaluable tool with an enormous amount of information. With that said,
it's become increasingly hard to keep up with all of the educational technology trends
because it seems like they change daily. Luckily, teachers, administrators, and technology
enthusiasts share their knowledge and expertise through educational blogs. Speaking of
technological advancements, we need not attend seminars physically as we can listen to
them on our mobile phones through listening to their educational podcast. Podcasts are the
latest way to stay up-to-date with current technology trends. There are a lot of podcasts
available depending on your educational needs. More importantly, as educators we should
strive to explore professional development options By taking a few short courses or
attending a seminar that touches on educational technology and other trends in education,
you can increase your knowledge and readiness so that you're able to integrate new
methods into your curriculum. Your motivation to stay ahead of educational technology
trends will help you be as effective an educator as possible.
