For their poetry final assessment, students must choose a lyrical poem to analyze for poetic devices. They must locate at least 8 examples of different poetic devices used in the poem and create a symbol representing the poem. Students will write copies of poems from class and one additional poem in a booklet or poster format for presentation and evaluation on communication of poetic devices, critical thinking about poetry writing, and completion of presentation requirements.

For your final assessment for poetry, you will apply your understanding of all the concepts we have covered in Poetry and Analysis. This will be completed via booklet or poster (your choice).
For this project you are to:
Part 1 a) Find a lyrical poem (song) which has depth and one you can analyze for the devices. Please make sure that it is appropriate for school. (Run it by me if needed) b) You are to locate at least 8 or more examples of poetic devices. I want you to locate a diversity of devices rather than the same devices over and over again. c) Create a symbol on your poem (an image that effectively represents your poem.) Part 2 d) Write the good copies of your poems from your poetry booklet to booklet and poster and Make sure to label them! e) Choose one poem that we did not write in class (concrete, diamante, or limericks) to add to your booklet/ poster.
