Important information

NOTE
Correct procedure for oil filling and oil level check
Therefore:
• The vehicle must be parked on a flat, level surface in order to check and change the gearbox oil.
• The gearbox oil must be changed when it is at operating temperature.

oil filter
Draining the gearbox oil
►Place a collecting container underneath
►Unscrew the screw plug 1 at the drain hole
►Drain the used oil
►Screw in the screw plug 1 with a new seal and
tighten to specified torque

Draining gearbox oil from Intarder


►Unscrew and remove screw plug 1 at the
Intarder drain hole
►Drain the used oil

►Screw in the Intarder screw plug 1 with a new


seal and tighten to specified torque

Replacing the oil filter in gearbox with Intarder


►Unscrew and remove mounting bolts 2 and 3
on suction filter 4
►Pull off filter cover 4 with oil filter

►Remove oil filter 1 from cover


►Grease seals 2 and 3 on new filter
►Install the filter cover with a new filter
►Screw in filter cover mounting bolts and tighten
them to the specified torque

Filling with gearbox oil


►Unscrew screw plug 1 at checking and filler
hole
►Add gearbox oil until the bottom edge of the
checking and filler hole is reached
►Screw in screw plug 1 at checking and filler
hole with new seal and tighten to specified
tightening torque
►Perform a short test drive without operating the
Intarder
►Stop vehicle and check oil level
►If the oil level is too low, top up the oil and
tighten the screw plug
